CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION
This chapter presents the background of the study, statement of the
problem, paradigm of the study, the significance of the study, the scope
and limitation of the study, conceptual framework, and hypothesis,
However, many of these responses have been undertaken with little
attention to what is known about bullying and its effects. Even the
definition of bullying varies among both researchers and lawmakers,
though it generally includes physical and verbal behavior, behavior
leading to social isolation, and behavior

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Nowadays, the case of bullying is badly increasing. It may occur in any
situation in different places and different person in any ages. But usually
bullying takes place in the school, social media, and in our homes. We all
know that bullying is bad, and unwanted. It may brought many changes
to the victim's behavior, physical, mental aspects and worst may lead to
depression and extreme anxiety. Because of its alarming triggers, school
staffs made an intervention and prevention to the said issue.

Anti-Bullying it is a very well-known policy, rule or law that is executed

to prevent bullying. Anti-bullying campaign in schools such as seminars
and programs has a great contribution to lessen the bullying.
Sometimes, teaching academic lessons should not just only prioritize in
school but to teach every students a good character and having a good
relationship towards others as well. Anti-bullying shall practiced and be
executed in any situation, ( it includes in social media as well) because
of this it can effectively prevent, lessen and stop the bullying acts. In
addition, the anti-bullying campaign shall start within ourselves. Have a
connection and always think before we click or talk. Always try to control
our emotions, be responsible enough to our every actions. As what they
say, "Don't do to others what you don't what them do unto you." Anti-
bullying matters! It might be the key sword to change our world to be a
better place to live in.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The focus of this research is to determain the EFFECTIVENESS OF
UNIVERSITY OF LUZON POZORRUBIO
CAMPUS' IN BULLYING PREVENTION PROTOCOLS.
1. The study will be conducted at the University of Luzon Pozorrubio
Campus
2 . The study is looking into the effects of student having an increased
risk of depression and other mental
health issues
3. The respondents are Senior High School students of University of
Luzon Pozorrubio Campus
4. The time frame of this research started September to December

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
Victims of bullying may experience adverse health outcomes such as
sleep disorders, headaches, stomachaches, conduct problems and
mental health disorders. Adolescent victims of bullying are more likely to
experience low self-esteem , increased sexual risk behaviors and are
more likely to use alcohol and smoke tobacco compared to their non-
bullied counterparts
Adolescents' health risk behaviors, specifically school bullying, substance
abuse and negative peer influences, are a public health problem.

PARADIGM OF THE STUDY

INPUT
The researchers will need the answers of the respondents in terms of
their ability to defend themselves in order to prevent bullying. The
researchers will also need their answer in terms of avoiding bullies.

PROCESS
Collection of the data through online survey.

OUTPUT
A report on the factors to identify if there is a case of bullying at the
University of Luzon Pozorrubio Campus.

OUTCOME
The researchers aim to help students how to avoif bullies in order to
prevent bullying cases at the University of Luzon Pozorrubio Campus.

STATEMENT OF STUDY

more than once or have the potential
To happen more than once
1.5 The researchers must assume that students who live in Pozorrubio
no one will bullied among all students
In University of Luzon Campus.

DEFINITION OF TERM
For clearer understanding of the work, the following terms were defined.

Anti-bullying
-Anti-bullying refers to laws, policies, organizations, and movements
aimed at stopping or preventing bullying. Bullying is a situation where a
person, called a bully, verbally or physically threatens or assaults a
person, causing the person to feel a real or perceived power imbalance.

Bullying
-Bullying refers to aggressive behavior that is repetitive and intentional in
which a power differential exists between the victim and bully. The
negative effects of bullying on an individual's mental and physical health
are substantial and in line with other major forms of child maltreatment.

Covert Bullying
-Covert bullying can be very difficult for someone outside of the
interaction to identify. It can include hand gestures and threatening
looks, whispering, excluding or turning your back on a person,
restricting where a person can sit and who they can talk with. Social
bullying (spreading rumours, manipulation of relationships, excluding,
isolating) is often covert bullying.
Cyberbullying
-Cyberbullying includes any form of bullying behaviour that occurs
online or via a mobile device. It can be
verbal or written, and can include threats of violence as well as images,
videos and/or audio.
Physical Bullying
-Physical bullying includes hitting, pushing, shoving or intimidating or
otherwise physically hurting another person, damaging or stealing their
belongings. It includes threats of violence.

Social Bullying
-This is sometimes called relational or emotional bullying, and includes
deliberately excluding someone, spreading rumours, sharing information
that will have a harmful effect on the other person and/or damaging a
person’s social reputation or social acceptance.

Verbal and written Bullying

-Verbal and written bullying includes name-calling or insulting someone
about an attribute, quality or personal characteristic.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study serves as guidelines on how the students deal with the
University Luzon Pozorrubio Campus' Bullying Prevention Protocols.
Through this research, the researchers will be able to collect data and
obtain information that contributes to the understanding of how Bullying
Prevention Protocols affects the students.
As such the result of this study will be greatly beneficial to the
following:

Students. The result of this study would be important to the students in

order for them to be aware of what is the Bullying Prevention Protocols
all about. To know the effects of bullying to the physical, social, and
mental health of the students and to know what to do when they becom
a victim of bullying. How to improve and boost their self-esteem through
knowing and joining different school's bullying prevention protocols and
programs.

Teachers. The findings of this study will help the teachers to know their
learning objectives, expectations to their students being bullied. The
information will give the teachers’ guidelines on how they will assist their
students to manage their social and emotional aspects. Also, the result of
this will give teachers’ strategy in preventing bullying in the school
campus. For them to know what are the possible bullying prevention
protocols should be implemented and to know the teaching and learning
strategy to be used to avoid bullying.

Parents. The result of this study will help the parents to be aware on how
the Bullying Prevention Protocols helps their children and to give advice
on how they avoid bullying and how to protect themselve in case they
become a victims of bullying as well.
CHAPTER 2

INTRODUCTION
The contribution of what we started earlier, In addition, the anti-bullying
campaign shall start
within ourselves. Have a connection and always think before we click or
talk. Always try to control emotions, be responsible enough to our every
actions. As what they say, "Don't do to others what you don't what them
do unto you. "Anti-bullying matters it might be the key sword to change
our world to be a better place to live in.

REVIEW OF RALATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

Shelley Hymel, Susan M Swearer
American Psychologist 70 (4) 293, 2015
The article provides an introductory overview of finding from the past 40
years or research on bullying among school-aged children and yourh.
Research on definitional and assessment issues in studying bullying and
victimization is reviewed, data on prevalence rates, stability, and forms of
bullying behavior are summarized, setting the stage for the 5 articles that
comprise this American psychologist special issue on bullying and
victimization.
The articles address bullying, victimization, psychological sequela and
consequences, ethical, legal, and theoretical facing educators,
researcher, and practitioners, and effective prevention and intervention
efforts
According to the Center for Disease Control, students who are bullied are
more likely to experience Low-self-esteem and isolation, perform poorly in
school, have few friends in school, have a negative view of school,
experience physical symtoms (such as headaches, stomachaches, or
problems sleeping) and to experience mental health issues such as
depression, suicidal throughts, and anxiety
In a British study of the National Institute of Child Development, Brown
and Taylor (2008)
invistigated the effects of the school bullying. The results suggest an
adverse effect on the
accumulation of human capital.
The impact of bullying on 16 years old school teenagers is equivalent to
the effects of class size.
The effects of class size disappears for young people at more advanced
ages, however, the effect of bullying remains during adult life, directly
influencing the salaries received during the life cycle and indirectly
through the levels of schooling reached.
Harmon and Walker (2000) argued that levels of schooling at higher ages
are not affected by class size but contact with bullying has an impact on
educational level throughout life.
For Fante (2005), bullying is a situation which is characterized by
intentional verbal or physical abuse made repetitively, by one or more
students against one or more peers. The author states that
this phenomenon is a form of violence quikly growing in the world. In
brazil, during November 2015 the Federal goverment established the
nationwide initiative called the Systematic Program 1 to combat bullying
This federal law aims to combat bullying throughouth society, especially
in schools.
For Kibriya et al. (2015) bullying is an important issue that could affect
performance in school
which is often overlooked.
A study by Nansel et al. (2001) with a sample of 15,686 American
student of the 16th year the 1st year of middle school showed that about
30% of students reported moderate of frequent involvement in bullying.
Acording to the data resulting from research conducted by Joaquin
Nabuco Foundation
in 2013 with 4191 students in 6th grade (grade 5) of the public school
ofbRecife it was shown that 36.41% of student
said they fully agree with the fact that they suffered bullying and 40.71%
when the question was stated with a "maybe".
Research as bowles and Herbert (1976) have discussed the
importance of non-cognitive skills as good indicators of sucess in life.
They argued that non-cognitive skills can be considered even more
important than cognitive abilities to determine various factors
throughout people's lives.
CHAPTER 3

INTRODUCTION
This study aimed to find out the implementation of bullying policy in
University of Luzon Campus by the use of information dissemination
strategies. The study concludes that most of the respondents are slightly
aware of regarding bullying policy of the university and print media plays
a major role in this slight awareness,
the students and their information dissemination strategies are not
effective enough to implement and/or promote the policy and to raise the
awareness of the community.

RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHOLOGY

Bullying prevention programs have been shown to be generally effective
in reducing bullying and victimization. However, the effects are relatively
small in randomized experiments and greater in quasi-experimental and
age-cohort designs. Programs that are more intensive and of longer
duration are more effective, as are programs containing more
components. Several program components are associated with large
effect sizes, including parent training or meetings and teacher training.
These results should inform the design and evaluation of anti-bullying
programs in the future, and a system of accreditation of effective
programs. The purpose of the study is to examine the impact social
support has on academic success, self-esteem, and self-efficacy among
college students who are cyberbullying victims. To address this gap, a
quantitative survey approach will be used.
The primary components of this chapter will include descriptions of the
research design and rationale for the research, the methodology that will
be used in the study. Additionally, threats to validity will be considered
for the study, ethical procedures will be discussed, and a summary
provided.
The study will examine the relationship between variables. Participants
will be selected from students active in college-level courses with one or
more years of study. This quantitative study will consider correlations
between the moderating influences of social support with regard to
cyberbullying and academic achievement, self-efficacy and self-esteem at
the college level. This methodology will be accomplished through a survey
sample questionnaire, completed .
There is expected to be no time or resource constraints consistent with
the design choice since the sample population will consist of students
provided by SM. The design will be a quantitative, survey study.
POPULATION AND LOCALE OF THE STUDY
The Population of this study came from University of Luzon Pozorrubio
Campus. The respondent are both
Senior high and college who are 16years old and above. The senior high
and college of this school has
a population of more than 200 students 60 students will be choosen in
conducting this research.
All of this respondents were selected through convenience sampling. This
sampling method was
Conducted where each member of a population have an equal chance of
becoming a research,
Respondents, this is said to be most effecient sampling procedure.

DATA GATHERING TOOL

Gathering data is a good way to raise awareness about bullying
behaviour across the school community, and provide a baseline for
monitoring outcomes over time.
Bullying is often hidden from adults. Data sources, including gathering
data from students, are important to determine the level and type of
bullying that occurs and whether efforts to prevent bullying are
effective. Each school has its own culture and values, and bullying can be
different depending on the school environment.Finding out what’s going
on and providing this information to the school community is a key
element of success for any approach or programme Schools have a range
of data sources and tools they can use to inform their understanding of
bullying and whether it’s happening in their school.
Some examples of data that could be collected are listed below*:
can help develop approaches to addressing bullying behaviours, and
suggest enhancements to school activities like this .

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The researchers requested opportunity to conduct the study of
University of Luzon Pozorrubio Campus. After that, the researcher
distributes the questionare in social media flat form .The questionare is
broke down into three sections. Part I The respondent's of bullied
student Part II entails there feelings and emotions.Part III inquires about
their performance in school. The respondents will be question about
effects of bullying.
We also have to decide how we are going to collect data, after having
decided what to collect of course. In addition, it is important to mention
that we are going to collect data according to how relevant it can be in
the research as well as its effectiveness.
