SPEECH

Speech is the expression of or the


ability to express thoughts and feelings by
articulate sounds. It is the ability to speak or
to use vocalizations to communicate.
ORAL COMMUNICATION

Oral communication is the process of


verbally transmitting information and ideas
from one individual or group to another. It can
be either formal or informal.
It includes individuals conversing
with each other, be it direct conversation or
telephonic conversation. Speeches,
presentations, discussions are all forms of
oral communication.

SENDER/ SOURCE

The one who initiates the communication


process by developing an idea into a message known as
encoding using effective verbal as well as non-verbal
techniques. Speaking or writing clearly, organizing
your points to make them easy to follow and
understand, maintaining eye contact, using proper
grammar and giving accurate information are all
essential in the effectiveness of one’s message.
RECEIVER

The party that receives and finalizes the communication


process by interpreting and assigning meaning to the
message also known as decoding. A receiver can be one
person or an entire audience of people. The best way to
receive a message is to listen carefully, sit up straight ,
and make eye contact. Nodding and smiling as you
listen to the sender demonstrate that you
understand the message.
MESSAGE

The most crucial element of effective


communication . It can be referred to as
information, opinions, thoughts, ideas, etc. sent
either by the source or the receiver. A message
can come in many different forms such as oral
presentation, a written document, an
advertisement or just a comment.
CHANNEL

This may be referred to as the medium or a


scheme of delivery such as words or language
used as means of communication. This may also
involve sound and light waves , sensory filters
like sight, hearing, and touch- can be comforting
or threatening.

FEEDBACK

Feedback consists of the


verbal and non-verbal reactions/ or
responses of the receivers to the
message they received from the
senders.
NOISE

Noise is an interference or
hindrance that causes a
disturbance between the sender
and the receiver in the
communication process.
