1.0 OBJECTIVES : Passive Network Survey

 Operations Representative shall attend the meeting with the client along with a Sales
representative to understand the client’s requirements specifications for the passive network.

 Understand the client’s requirement by enquiring about various aspects of the passive
network. (What brand the client wants as the vendor for the passive network? Where is the
rack room located? How many data/voice points are required? Fiber requirement?).

 Floor plan/building drawing/furniture drawing should be obtained from the client. All the
locations of the data/voice points, cable length shall be indicated in the diagram.

 An estimate of the tentative length of cable(fiber/cat6), number of data/voice points shall be

made and all additional requirements (Rack, Jack Panel, Cable manager, TR-Box ,Faceplate,
labels, etc.) shall be added and a BOQ (Bill of Quantity) should be prepared by the project
executive.

 The BOQ will be then forwarded to the Operations manager for review and he will then in turn
forward it to the Sales Representative.
