THE RATTRAP

BY- SELMA LAGERLOF

understanding can awaken a person's
inherent goodness. It emphasises the notion
that the world is a rattrap. Riches, pleasures,
shelter, and food are all tempting traps for
humanity.

together, he turned to begging and thieving.

closes in on them, putting a stop to everything.
BREAKDOWN

roadside home one dark evening. The old man provided

morning.

wilderness. While lying down on the ground, he
remembered his belief that the world is a rattrap and
realised that his time was running out.
