While designing a cafe, one must know the audience that the coffee house has to cater in order to
fulfil the functionality of space and audience. My coffee place would cater tourist coming towards
the north and giving them a space to enjoy their trip. I’ll be wanting my visitors to have a homely
feel.Pastel colours, relaxing music, wooden furniture. All these elements must be incorporated to
make customers feel comfortable, put them at ease, and let them feel free to carry on with their
own business. The ambiance of the coffee shop is the most major element in interior design that
depends on many factors- the colours you use, the lighting you use, the texture and also the scent
at your cafe. Each one of these affects your customer's psychology differently. A good cafe interior is
the one that accounts for the effect each element will have and the measures taken to balance
them in the right proportions to give the vibe you wanted for your coffee house. The vibe of the
coffee house plays a vital role in making your cafe a home for visitors. the context of the coffee
house will derive the style I'll be using for the cafe.
Most cafes leave a strong coffee-like scent within the space not because they serve coffee, but it is
to entice customers to order more. this fragrance is one of the favourite scents for coffee lovers.
The concept of "art" is much more fluid and subjective. Id like my cafe to be poetic and filled with
belonging with the past through the colours, textures and light.
Coffee, a comfort drink for many and a drink to be enjoyed on a pleasant day has to be in a very
peaceful place. coffee house between the mountains and woods seems to be the perfect
context for the coffee house. the design will be focusing towards the eclectic design, including
vintage and subtle design and arrangement for the visitors. I'll be having a blend of retro to give
visitor the vibe they've been wanting for there go to coffee house or a space they can read in.
eclectic design embraces the styles such as modern and vintage There will be variety of textures,
material mixed to create a comfortable environment for the visitors'- you might see a leather
sofa combined with a plush rug, a weathered wood table, wrought iron pendants and chrome
wall decor. Despite the variety, this style is not chaotic or haphazard. There are cohesive motifs
and themes that tie the disparate pieces together. A common thread such as a recurring neutral
tone or shape is often used to subtly connect the varied pieces and create a sense of belonging.
only one or two of those colors will be used throughout the cafe to avoid a chaotic, cluttered
look. Adding this will give the cafe 90's vibe. working towards an eclectic design; it must have a
blend of vintage tones and subtle colours to create the contrast my coffee house is intending to
serve. this blend will keep the colours from overpowering the customers. the color palette
would be variety of pastels or faded colours such as burgundy, peach, sea green to give the
essence of vintage old vibe. the lightning of the cafe should be subtle to have a comfy vibe.
Comfortable lightning makes a person sits for longer. brighter lights would contradict my concept
of coffee house and will create a disturbing environment for the customers and distract them.
Dim lights work in a coffee house if you want to give a rustic and exclusive impression in their
private spheres, hence unlike bars, extremely loud music in a cafe will be a turn-off. The coffee
house will project very soft vintage music that will go with the cafes style and also gives every
table a privacy. There will be people wanting to interact, while the others won't. Thus, to achieve
the correct measure of privacy in a cafe will be also be dictated by the placement of interior
design elements. A balance must be created to cater to both types of audiences. Thus, the
placement of the furniture, the distance between fixtures, the volume of music and the kind of
interior used will cater to varying levels of privacy needs.
