Introduction
Retail is the sale of goods and services consumers, in contrast to wholesaling,
which is sale to business or institutional customers. A retailer purchases goods in
large quantities from manufacturers, directly or through a wholesaler, and then
sells in smaller quantities to consumers for a profit. Retailers are the final link in
the supply chain from producers to consumers.
Retail shops occur in a diverse range of types and in many different contexts from
strip shopping centres in residential streets through to large, indoor shopping
malls, Shopping streets may restrict traffic to pedestrians only.
Introduction
Retail Store a store to which every customer or every person vists at least once in
a day to buy his daily basic necessities. These stores are available in each village,
each town, each city, because they make available each and every small product
to everyone. So this report is on one of the retail store which is a Grocery Store .
The report is based on the observations recorded during a personal visit to the
store.
Type of Store -
o This store involves all grocery items, which are necessary for every house
in day to day activity.
o This store has made available for its customers all types of grocery items,
small household items, etc.
o In short it fulfills the basic need of all consumers.
Time of Visit – 3 PM
Objectives -
1. Product Display
During the visit I observed that they had kept their products very neat
and tidy. All the loose items like Dry fruits, Sprouts, Groundnuts, etc were
packed in pouches of various quantity. They had separated the goods like
edible on one side and cosmetics on other side.
2. Service Provided
They also provide various schemes and offers which helps them to
engage the customer and to increase the sales. Due to the discounts they provide
customers prefer them.

2. Retail Store
Name of Store: STARRY NIGHT
Location: Nal Stop, Karve Road
Type of Store: Decorative lights retail shop
This store sells everything from everyday use lights to fancy decorative
lights.
Many customers & architectural firms have undertaken huge contracts for
complete lighting solutions for their projects.
This store caters to the needs for both retail customers & people who need
lights at wholesale rate for their whole house renovation projects.
Recommendations:
The store should have a dedicated social media presence so that they
can reach new customers.
The store should have accessible contact information.
They should update product pictures & contact information on their
website so customers can make an informed decision.

Objectives:
Customer centricity is at the core of Bombay stationers and gifts and toys
in Erandwane.
Their main purpose is to provide you with all the accessories needed to
operate the daily function.And the objective is to make your work life
easy by supplying all the items under one roof.
As the shop is in prime loaction and nearest to the schools and colleges
its main aim is to provide the students and people all types of stationery ,
gifts and toys.
Procuring all the inventory – art supplies, stationery items, craft material,
etc.

Observations:
The types of products offered in its retail stores include Apparel, Food,
Farm Products such as dairy, vegetables, Childcare, and Personal care
products as well as Electronics, Clothing, and Accessories.
Here one can easily purchase all edible goods that have been processed
as well as that are fresh they can shop for all household items like soaps
shampoos utensils cups and plates and much more.
The outlet has been delivering exceptional services to its guests from
10:30 AM to 9:30 PM and has received over 5600 ratings from its
customers.
5. Retail Store
Name of Store – ZARE WATCH
Location – Main Road, Indapur
Objectives :-
Observation :-
1. Store Layout
The store is designed in very proper way. Space in the store is used very
smartly. All the products are displayed and are visible to the customer
which helps them to compare the products and buy the best one.
2. Various Brands
Nowadays customer prefer good quality products, so brands (like Titan,
Sonata ,G-Shock, FastTrack, etc.) play very important role. The store had
fulfilled this requirement, there were variety of branded watches available
in the store.
3. Customer Response
At the time of visit there were few customers, I observed that customers
were happy with the quality and the prise range of the products. They give
the warranty of the product, so customer need not worry. This helps them
to attract more and more customers.
