Project Overview
Start-up venture has made significant progress across all business functions. Have developed
better understanding of a highly competitive seafood industry by constantly interacting with
domain experts. Enhanced business operation capacity for executing continuous orders.
Strengthened sourcing capability through regular interaction with farmers across Kashmir.
Parallelly working on legal documents for ‘Pvt Ltd’ company structure.
Status Update
Thermocol Box – Rifat Amin took up the responsibility to assess vendors across Delhi/NCR
region and finalise the contract. We successfully transported 435 boxes from Delhi to Kashmir
during the peak winter season which has never been done before.
Rifat recall by saying ‘It was a great experience as I had to challenge my own
limitations and move out of my comfort zone’.
Storage Facility – Rented a storage facility of 220 sq.ft at Tengpora which is on Jammu-
Srinagar Highway. The facility will be utilised for storing Thermocol Box and other packaging
material.
Business Operations – There was increase in demand for the product during Christmas & New
Year. Continuous orders were fulfilled despite harsh weather condition & limited availability
of packaging material. Travelling early morning at 5:00 AM with temperature falling below -8
degree celsius for close to 175 kms for each order was indeed arduous. Even the minutest
detail had to be taken into consideration due to increased encounter activities across Kashmir
Valley.
Faaiz recalls by saying ‘Detailed Planning was the key for executing large orders efficiently for
our clients’.
Marketing & Sales – Meeting with eight potential seafood customers took place in Mumbai.
Customer insight on ways to develop a market for the new product was beneficial. Personal
interaction with potential clients also helped in building confidence. Currently working
towards building product awareness on social media platforms.
Saurav recalls by saying ‘Introducing Rainbow Trout is going to be tedious but yet very
rewarding as it will benefit farmers community across the Himalayan Belt’.
Achievements/Tasks Accomplished
Execution of orders was possible because of the grant fund obtained during November’20.
