CASE 1

Discussion Questions Exercise 1

Q 1 : As the top managers of their company, what types of issues might

Bert and John have to deal with ? Be as specific as possible. Which
management functions might be most important to them? Why ?
Ans : Being the proprietors of the organization, Bert and John would need to care for
countless things with various points. Since, their standards are basic and kind,
henceforth beginning without any preparation would have been a difficult employment
for them. Now and then, they would need to confront awful audits, despondent clients,
whining representatives, which all should be dealth adequately for constant
development of their organization. Accordingly, they would need to show restraint,
excusing, liberal and kind for their business to thrive. Also, inorder to manage the
pressure and working endurance of their representatives, they would need to
remunerate individuals working under them by giving them pay-ascends, off days,
arbitrary snacks and so on with the goal that their work effectiveness stays consistent.
Q 2 : Using description from the case, describe Bert and John’s managerial
style ? Would this approach work for their organizations ? Why or why
not ?
Ans : Bert and John have adjusted the standards of effortlessness, humor and modesty
for making their business work. They have effectively made it prosper and now it is one
of the main business inside their particular region. It is very testing to conclude that
whether a similar methodology would work for different associations or not as various
different elements would control it. It can rely on the acknowledgment of individuals
towards the items being sold, their separate needs and requests, the connected cost,
effectiveness, expectations of the organization, mangement, brief activities and so on
Thus, it can't be summed up for all organizations.

Q 3 : How do you think the company’s motto ‘ Do what you like . Like what
you do’ might affect how managers manage ? Be specific.
Ans : The aphorism of the organization "Do what you like, similar to what you do" is
profound and straightforward, if appropriately comprehended and applied. It plainly
mirrors the thought, that one shouldn't indiscriminately follow what others are doing
rather our emphasis ought to be on that thing where we have our ability and which we
can convey successfully. It is very indiscreet for a specialist to sell the extra pieces of an
apparatus since he wouldn't have any foundation information about it. Henceforth,
information is the key. That is the reason, the executives can be significantly influenced
by the previously mentioned aphorism.
Q 4 : What managerial challenges might there be in having friends work for
your business ? How could these challenges be kept inconsequential ?
Ans : It is difficult to keep a harmony among individual and expert lives when while
working with individuals who are near you. The difficulties are very higher. On the off
chance that a companion is lethargic towards the work and doesn't keep the necessary
arrangement of decides that every other person needs to submit to, and the top of that
organization can't treat him/her simply like a worker, this can deteriorate in future and
result in numerous battles and extreme misfortunes to the business. Hence, individual
and expert carries on with must be kept discrete.
Q 5 : Would you want to work for a company like this ? Why or why not ?
Ans : Indeed, I will definetly very much want to work for such an organization. It is on
the grounds that, the proverb of the organization is exceptionally clear and basically and
the standards are profoundly fulfilling. An individual consequently gets persuaded that
the individuals you are managing know their work and are certain about their
deliverability. Thus, there is no space for such an uncertainty. Accordingly, it will be a
superb endeavor.\
Q 6 : In what ways would the Life is good managers (corporate and retail
store) have to deal with the challenges of customer service , innovation, and
sustainability ? Be specific in your description.
Ans : It is difficult to hold everything under tight restraints. Here and there, things don't
go as arranged and this can be expected to alot of reasons. Perhaps the clients aren't
content with the incresing value, the nature of the items, the time taken for conveying it
relying on their area and so on Likewise, if some new organization gets set up against it
and has more inventive thoughts, better expectations and administration, at that point
this turns into an immense test for the current organization to keep up its uprightness
and sustainibility. Subsequently, certain compromises may be required, for example,
offering better quality at low cost, returning to the inquiries of the clients and offering
them standard limits, searching for more imaginative thoughts by means of review
based information and so on
