Revealed Mystery, How God Will Finish His Work
Revealed Mystery, How God Will Finish His Work
Revealed Mystery, How God Will Finish His Work
➢ The many contradictory opinions in regard to what the Bible teaches do not arise from any obscurity in
the book itself, but from blindness and prejudice on the part of interpreters. Men ignore the plain
statements of the Bible to follow their own perverted reason. Priding themselves on their intellectual
attainments, they overlook the simplicity of truth; they forsake the fountain of living waters to drink of the
poisonous stream of error. – Review and Herald, Jan. 27, 1885.
➢ There is yet much precious truth to be revealed to the people in this time of peril and darkness, but it is
Satan’s determined purpose to prevent the light of truth from shining into the hearts of men. If we would
have the light that has been provided for us, we should show our desire for it by diligently searching the
word of God CSW 23.2
“
Precious truths that have long been in obscurity
are to be revealed in a light that will make
manifest their sacred worth; for God will glorify
His word, that it may appear in a light in which we
have never before beheld it.
CSW 25
“But those who profess to love the truth must put to the stretch
their powers, that they may comprehend the deep things of the word, that
God may be glorified and His people may be blessed and enlightened.
With humble hearts, subdued by the grace of God, you should come to the
task of searching the Scriptures, prepared to accept every ray of divine
light, and to walk in the way of holiness.”

the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. 5: Righteousness shall be
the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of His waist. 6: “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,

“Jesus as Teacher”
❑ The Bible uses many terms to describe Jesus. He is the Son of God, the Messiah, the Son of man, the
Savior, the Redeemer, the Lord, the Lamb of God, just to mention a few. But those people who knew
Him best during His three-plus years of public ministry in Judea and Galilee, He was a teacher. They
called Him “Master,” or “Rabbi.” Both men the same thing, namely, “Teacher.”
▪ Therefore, the teaching profession and the work of teaching must have been a particularly suitable
way for Jesus to carry out His public ministry. Somehow His work of Redemption is akin to the work
of teaching. What is more, it was foretold by the gospel prophet.
▪ Read Isaiah 11:1-9 What does it reveal about the teaching role
▪ “One of the most startling Messianic prophecies in the Scriptures is found in Isaiah 11:1-3 portray the
coming Messiah in educational terms, someone who brings knowledge, counsel, wisdom, and
understanding. The whole passage concludes with this remarkable promise: “The earth shall be full
of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Isa.11:9). Perhaps it was such teachings
of Scripture that inspired Ellen G. White in her book on education to note that the work of education
and the work of Redemption are one (See Education, p.30)”

Root and Branch in One (Isaiah 11)
❑ Who is the “shoot” that comes out “from the stump of Jesse” (NRSV) in Isaiah 11:1?
See also Zech. 3:8; Zech. 6:12).
▪ Isaiah 11:1 picks up on the imagery of a felled tree in 10:33, 34.
▪ The “stump of Jesse” represents the idea that the dynasty of David (son of Jesse) would lose its
power (Dan.4:10-17, 20-26). But these would rise a “shoot/branch” from the apparently doomed
“stump;” that is, a Ruler descended from David.
▪ Why is the new Davidic ruler also called the “root of Jesse?” (Isaiah 11:10)
▪ What sense does this make? (Rev. 22:16)
▪ The description fits only Jesus Christ, who is both “the root and the descendant of David”
(Rev.22:16,NRSV).

Root and Branch in One (Isaiah 11)
▪ Christ came from the line of David (Luke 3:23-31), who was descended from Adam, who was the
“son of God” (Luke 3:38) in the sense that Christ created him (see John 1:1-3, 14).
▪ So, Christ was David’s ancestor, as well as his descendant! In what ways does he new Davidic Ruler
reverse the evil effects of sin and apostasy? (Isaiah 11). He thinks and acts in harmony with the Lord,
judges fairly, punishes the wicked, and brings peace. When He takes over, the Lord will bring back,
restore, and unite a faithful remnant of Israel and Judah (compare Isa. 10:20-22).
▪ There will be a strong, united monarchy as in the days of King David, who defeated the Philistines
and other peoples. But the new Ruler will be greater than David in that He will restore peace even to
the essence of creation itself: predators will no longer be carnivorous, and they will coexist in
tranquility with their former prey (Isa. 11:6-9).
▪ Is Isaiah 11 talking about just the first coming of Christ, just the second, or both?
Look through the prophecy and mark down which texts talk about which coming.

Root and Branch in One (Isaiah 11)
❑ In Isaiah 11, both comings of Jesus are presented as one picture.
▪ They are tied together, because they are two parts of a whole, lie the two sides of a flat plane. The plan
of salvation, to be completed, requires both Comings: the First, which already has happened; and the
Second, which we await as the consummation of all our hopes as Christians.
▪ What did Christ accomplish at the First Coming that gives us such assurance about the Second Coming?
▪ What is the purpose of the First Coming if it doesn’t result in the Second?
❑ Isaiah 11:9
“They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the
Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”
▪ The issue at hand is to find out when will this verse will be fulfilled. Before or after the earth made
new?
❑ Isaiah 11: 1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, ad a Branch shall grow out of
his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make
him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes,
neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and
reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth,
and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall be girdle of his
loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. 6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the
leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a
little child shall lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down
together: and lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the
asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. 9 “They shall not hurt nor
destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the
waters cover the sea.”
❑ All come forth from their graves the same in stature as when they entered the tomb. Adam, who stands
among the risen throng, is of lofty height and majestic form, in stature but little below the Son of God. He
presents a marked contrast to the people of later generations; in this one respect is shown the great
degeneracy of the race. But all arise with the freshness and vigor of eternal youth…
❑ All blemishes and deformities are left in the grave. Restored to the tree of life in the long-lost Eden, the
redeemed will “grow up: to the full stature of the race in its primeval glory… {CC 23} LDE 291.
❑ There are men today who express their belief that there will be marriages and births in the new earth;
but those who believe the Scriptures cannot accept such doctrines. The doctrine that children will be
born in the new earth is not a part of the “sure word of prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19). The words of Chricst
are too plain to be misunderstood.
❑ They should forever settle the question of marriages and births in the new earth. Neither those who shall
be raised from the dead, nor those who shall be translated without seeing death, will marry or be given in
marriage. They will be as the angels of God, members of the royal family. 1 SM 172
❑ Seeing that all (ADULTS and CHILDREN) who go to heaven will be feeding on the tree of life
and growing up to the lofty statue of Adam and there will be no new birth in the earth made
new.
❑ Then verses 6 to 9 is not talking about the new earth but instead the restoration Jerusalem
before the commencement of the millennium.
▪ 10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall
the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
▪ 11 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover
the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from
Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
❑ The sequence of events in Isaiah 11 has baffled the minds of many great theologians. This can be easily
cleared up if we understand the full plan of salvation as outline in God’s agenda void of our preconceived
idea of how the gospel work is to be finished. History has demonstrated that God’s people can deliberate
on the past and future but most times misunderstood the present.
▪ 12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather
together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
▪ 13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not
envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
Isaiah 11
▪ 14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east
together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them
(Arabs—Jacob’s relatives)
▪ 15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he
shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make [men] go over dryshod.
▪ 16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it
was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

angle in Jeremiah 23.
Jeremiah 23
▪ 1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! Saith the LORD. 2 Therefore
thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and
driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the
LORD. 3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will
bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. 4 And I will set up shepherds over
them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking,
saith the LORD. 5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch,
and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. 6 In his days

countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
Jeremiah 33
▪ 14 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto
the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
▪ 15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he
shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

The Division
The breach created by the rash speech of Rehoboam proved irreparable.
Thenceforth the 12 tribes of Israel were divided, the tribes of Judah and
Benjamin composing the lower or southern kingdom of Judah, under the
rulership of Rehoboam; while the 10 northern tribes formed and maintained a
separate government, known as the kingdom of Israel, with Jeroboam as
their ruler. Thus was fulfilled the prediction of the prophet concerning the
rending of the kingdom. “The cause was from the Lord.” verse 15.

Here is what the Jews are saying about these
prophecies
▪ Christian Zionism is a belief among some Christians that the return of the Jews to
the Holy Land and the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 were in
accordance with the Bible prophecy. The term began to be used in the mid-20th
century.
▪ The problem with the claim of these Jews is that since their gathering from 1948
to the present, they have never lived in peace as the Bible describe, and there is no
evidence of man and beast lying down together safely.
Now hear Isaiah 11 again with the new
enlightment
▪ 5 And righteousness shall be girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
▪ 6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the
young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
▪ 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and lion shall eat straw
like the ox.
▪ 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the
cockatrice’ den.
▪ 9 “They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the
LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”
▪ 10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall
the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
EZEKIEL 36 continues to say
▪ 37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet [for] this be inquired of by the house of Israel,
to do [it] for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
▪ 38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the
waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.
▪ The above is clear evidence that when this restoration takes place probation is not
close because we see men being drawn to Christ’s Kingdom unlike after the 1000
years after the second resurrection.
▪ This is the clearest and most fascinated Bible doctrine with the most abundant
proof, yet no one is preaching about it and this is what is about to take place.
Let us now observe what really comprise the
Holy Land that God gave to Abraham.
▪ Genesis 15:18
In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I
given this lang, from the river of Egypt unto the great rive, the river Euphrates.
▪ The present state of Israel is just about 260 miles long and about 70 wide.
▪ But the real HOLY LAND consist of all the land between the river Euphrates and the
river Nile in Egypt. That means that Iran, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, part of Saudi
Arabia and part of Egypt comprise the HOLY LAND. Ancient Israel has never
occupied this amount of land.
▪ Remember: GOD CANNOT LIE
“
Leviticus 23:19
God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of
man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he
not do [it]? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it
good?
Christ’s disciples did not forget these messianic
prophecies that related to restoration of the HOLY LAND.
We today may but they did not. HERE IS THE PROOF:
▪ Acts 1:
3 To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible
proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the
kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they shoud
not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he],
ye have heard of me.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt
thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which
the Father hath put in his own power.
“
❖The Disciples were focusing on the Scriptures that we have been quoting
so far. This is the reason why they were looking for a physical literal
KINGDOM ruled by King Jesus that would liberate them from the Roman
power.
❖Notice that Jesus did not rebuked nor corrected them for their thinking
and expectations, He simply said it was not for them to know the time. It
would have been disheartening for Jesus to tell them that they would have
to wait 2000 years for the fulfilment of that prophecy. That is the time it
would take for the gentiles to be engrafted into the true olive vine.
Observe this warning given by Jesus
LUKE 21:
▪ 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days!
for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
▪ 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into
all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times
of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
▪ 25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the star; and upon
the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
▪ 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and looking after those things which are
coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Observe this warning given by Jesus
ROMANS 11:
▪ 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye
should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel,
until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
▪ 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the
Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
▪ 27 For this [is] my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
▪ Bare in mind that the present so called none Christian Jews occupying Palestine
are Gentiles in the sight of the Lord. Ironically these returning unbelieving Jews
have frequently falsely claim that they are fulfilling the aforementioned prophecies.
Sad to say they have never live in peace as the prophecy indicated.
The Indications that the time of the Gentiles is
about to come to an end is shown in the
following verses:
▪ 25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the star; and upon
the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
▪ 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and looking after those things which are
coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
“
Current events are now trumpeting that the
time has finally arrived for God to fulfil His
2500 years promises and only a very few
people know about it.

▪ Conditional prophecies???
▪ When our theologians are confronted with these glaring Scriptures, they say these
prophecies will never be fulfilled because ancient Israelites were not faithful.
▪ They say these were conditional prophecies that were dependent upon the
faithfulness of Israel of old.
▪ 3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, [saying], Yea, I have loved thee with an
everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
▪ 4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be
adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

and shall eat [them] as common things.
▪ 6 For there shall be a day, [that] the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry,

of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the

JEREMIAH 31:
▪ 8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts
of the earth, [and] with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her
that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.
▪ 9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause
them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not
stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim [is] my firstborn.
▪ 10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare [it] in the isles afar off, and
say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd [doth] his
flock.
“
Jeremiah 31:10
Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare [it] in the
isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him,
and keep him, as a shepherd [doth] his flock
God is speaking and who dare not take His word at heart?
In order for the nations to be able to say, “He that scattered Israel will gather him, and
keep him,” they must be nations that believe, nations that understand these prophecies
and promises. They are to do what we are doing.
But since there is no nation doing this at the present time, and since we are the only
ones that are engaged in this work, the truth becomes evident that our message is to
awaken nations to the fact that we, the last descendants of the 12 Tribes of Israel, are
called forth to declare this Truth not only to all our brethren, but even to the nations.
Then the nations are to re-broadcast It to other nations, so declares the Scriptures.
They are to proclaim that God’s people are to be gathered, and kept, too.
We, therefore, must not fail in our trust. We must prove worthy of our calling.

▪ JEREMIAH 31:16 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine
eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall
come again from the land of the enemy.
▪ 17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took
them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they
brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; after those
days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write in their hearts;
and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother,
saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the
greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember
their sin no more.

35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, [and] the ordinances of
the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves
thereof roar; The LORD of hosts [is] his name:
36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, [then] the seed of Israel
also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the
earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they
have done, saith the LORD.

God comforts His people
14 Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily [in]
the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed [in] Bashan and Gilead, as in the days
of old.
15 According to the days of they coming out of the land of Egypt will I show unto him
marvelous [things].
16 The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay [their]
hand upon [their] mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms
of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.

18 Who [is] a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the
transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever,
because he delighteth [in] mercy.
19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities;
and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills;
and all nations shall flow unto it.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the

Notwithstanding the spiritual darkness and alienation
from God that exist in the churches which constitute
Babylon, the great body of Christ’s true followers are still to
be found in their communion…
Revelation 18 points to the time when, as the result of
rejecting the threefold warning of Revelation 14:6-12, the
church will have fully reached the condition foretold by the
second angel, and the people of God still in Babylon will be
called upon to separate from her communion. This message
is the last that will ever be given to the world; and it will
accomplish its work.

When those that “believed not the truth, but had pleasure
in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:12), shall be left to
receive strong delusion and to believe a lie, then the light
of truth will shine upon all whose hearts are open to
receive it, and all the children of the Lord that remain in
Babylon will heed the call:
“Come out of her, My people” (Revelation 18:4).

ZECHARIAH 2:
10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of
thee, saith the LORD.
11 And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people:
and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath
sent me unto thee.
12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose
Jerusalem again.
13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for the is raised up out of his holy habitation.
Earth’s final harvest of souls will be during a
time of war
▪ From these series of Scriptures we can clearly see God’s plan not only to restore
the remnant of the true Israel but also to bring to the gentiles during the final
harvest of souls.
▪ One thing is made abundantly clear is that all the saint will be gather in the Holy
Land just prior to going to heaven.
▪ This is not in keeping with modern theology but that is what the Scriptures
repeatedly say.
Earth’s final harvest of souls will be during a
time of war
JOEL 3:
1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of
Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat,
and will plead with them there for my people and [for] my heritage Israel, whom they
have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the
men of war draw near; let them come up:
10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak
say, I [am] strong.
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together
round about: thither cause they mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
Earth’s final harvest of souls will be during a
time of war
JOEL 3:
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there
will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full,
the vats overflow; for their wickedness [is] great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD [is] near in
the valley of decision.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the
heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD [will be] the hope of his people, and
the strength of the children of Israel.
Earth’s final harvest of souls will be during a
time of war
JOEL 3:
12 So shall ye know that I [am] the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain:
then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
❑ As the world become destabilized and unsettled with the threats of wars, and many nations
are investing their means in war implements at the sacrifice of producing food, many will
crying unto God and be lead to seek the Lord our righteousness.
❑ They will be ripe for the harvest.
❑ This is the condition the world is in today.
❑ Clear it is that during this final harvesting of souls the headquarters of the gospel
will be at Jerusalem. From here the Lord will speak to the nations through
instrumentality of His sanctified ministry.

It is the first and highest duty of every rational being to learn from the
Scriptures what is truth, and then to walk in the light and encourage others to
follow his example.
We should day by day study the Bible diligently, weighing every thought and
comparing scripture with scripture.
With divine help we are to form our opinions for ourselves as we are to
answer for ourselves before God.

The Truths most plainly revealed in the Bible have been involved in doubt and
darkness by learned men, who, with a pretense of great wisdom, teach that the
Scriptures have a mystical, a secret, spiritual meaning not apparent in the language
employed. These men are false teachers. It was to such a class that Jesus declared:
“Ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God.” Mark 12:24.
The language of the Bible should be explained according to its obvious meaning,
unless a symbol or figure is employed. Christ has given the promise:
“If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine.” John 7:17.
GC 600
“
“If men would but take the Bible as it reads, if there were no
false teachers to mislead and confuse their minds, a work would
be accomplished that would make angels glad and that would
bring into the fold of Christ thousands upon thousands who are
now wandering in error.”

Did you know that The Lord’s Prayer was addressing
this same concern?
Isaiah 60:
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people:
but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy
rising.
4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together,
they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be
nursed at [thy] side.
5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be
enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the
forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee

Isaiah 60:
7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of
Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine

8 Who [are] these [that] fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy
sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD
thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall
minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had
mercy on thee.
11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor

Isaiah 60:

13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the

14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and
all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet;
and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of
Israel.
15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through
[thee], I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

Like the Day of Pentecost
“It is with an earnest longing that I look forward to the time when the events
of the Day of Pentecost shall be repeated with even greater power than on
that occasion.
John says, “I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great
power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.” [Revelation 18:1].
Then, as at the Pentecostal season, the people will hear the truth spoken to
them, every man in his own tongue.” 6BC 1055 (1886)
“The work will be similar to that of the Day of Pentecost. As the
“former rain” was given, in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the
opening of the gospel, to cause the upspringing of the precious seed,
so the “latter rain” will be given at its close for the ripening of the
harvest.”
“Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going
forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the
rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.” Hosea 6:3.
Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God:
for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause
to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain.”
