Scope and Limitations of the Study

This will focus on the factors affecting students' interest concerning the program which is

technical teacher education in Colegio de Sto. Domingo de Silos. This also aims to know the

relationship and difference between the age, sex, year level and the factors affecting students

interest with regards in choosing technical teacher education. This study also intends to know

the future implications of factors affecting students' interest in choosing technical teacher

education in Colegio de Sto. Domingo de Silos.

This study is excluded from the different perceptions of other programs or courses offered in

Colegio de Sto. Domingo de Silos.

This study is limited to the convenience sampling numbers of students as respondents in

Colegio de Sto. Domingo de Silos.

Significance of the study

These studies have significance in several areas. First, this study will be beneficial to

university college of education teachers students, parents, researchers and future researchers

in providing proper guidance, insights and creating specific programs in the college selection

process. Moreover, the findings provided may be used as a tool for self- discovery by providing
a framework to assess students to choose a specific course. The outcome of the study should

help students in selecting a degree suited to their potential.

This study helps universities to create specific programs that help students to improve

their competencies. It also develops their own education system and curriculum which serves a

guiding path to produce globally competitive professionals. This will help universities to form a

new system of education to achieve a high quality of education that can be recognized across

the world.

This study will help the college of education to provide programs that shape students’

competencies to become 21st century teachers. Leadership is one of the most important in

shaping students to be a successful teacher. This will help college of education to promote

This study helps students who are an incoming college to determine the things they

consider in choosing a career. They must consider internal (interest, ability, knowledge etc.) and

external factors (location, school, influential people etc.) These factors can be used as a basis in

choosing a course they want to take in order to shape their competencies in different ways.

Students. This study helps students (senior high school) to improve their maturity,

intellectual ability, and decision making that helps to select the courses that they see

themselves in the future. Many students nowadays, still undecided about the courses they want

to take. With the help of exploration, this will serve as a pattern to guide them to be wiser in

selecting courses as well as to increase awareness of the students through gathering

information about specific career clusters. It will help students to identify numerous factors that
can influence them in choosing a course. The factors that can affect their decision making are:

economic stability, academic track and interest in the field etc.

Parents. This study helps parents that serves as one of the main influences in their

children's career development and decision making. Parents want their children to find

happiness and enjoyment and to be successful in life. With the help of parents, they will guide

their children to select a certain career suited to their personality and ability. It indicates that

when students feel supported, loved, and motivated by their parents, they have more

confidence to be responsible and wiser in searching for information about specific courses that

shape their potential.

Schools. This study helps schools by conducting programs that help students in

increasing awareness about specific careers. Having a career orientation is one of the most

effective ways in guiding students by providing accurate information in choosing a career. This

will help students in terms of the decision-making process about their chosen path. It gives the

opportunity to the students to know any single information about the courses. This will help

students to be mature and wiser in selecting a certain career. It also helps students to avoid

choosing a career that does not fit their personality.

Teachers. This study helps teachers to guide students towards their future in life. They

must understand students' interests to provide them with quality learning opportunities. This

study helps teachers to motivate students to their chosen career and engage them to explore

areas that they are interested in. They give attention to students' weaknesses and strengths to

their chosen career. With the help of seminars, teachers can lead their students to wisely

choose a career that they are interested in and suited for them.
 The outcome of the study is beneficial to presented researchers. This may help

researchers to create new theories related to career development. It will help researchers to

develop a new theory that can help to form a new strategy that can analyze the behavior and

decision making as well as the actions of each student in determining career choice.
