Method Statement for Installation of Anchor Bolts

Methodology
1. Use approved drawings for work preparation. Surveyor and Site Engineer shall mark the
accurate locations of the anchor bolts and provide markings and level guides.

2. Use approved materials as per approved drawings such as anchor bolts length, diameter,
number, and location.

3. Prepare the bolt setting template (either steel or wooden template) as per location, correct
position, orientation and number of anchor bolts as per approved drawings.

4. Using 10mm Ø rebar, fabricate an Anchor Tie guide as shown below, Fabricate in two
separate “C” to be assembled overlapping exactly to the dimension of the perimeter of the
anchor bolt groupings.

5. Fix the bolts in the temporary template accurately. See below.

6. Insert the Anchor Bolt assembly into the initially marked position as per below.
7. Install the fabricated Anchor Tie guide overlapping each other to perfectly bind the anchor
bolts as shown below.

8. Tie the fabricated Anchor Tie guide into the Column, beam or wall reinforcement depending
on the location.

9. Tie the Anchor Bolt assembly into the already secured Anchor Tie guide. Check the level,
alignment and add diagonal rebar braces if necessary, to make sure the assembly will not move
during concreting.
10. Cross check the location of each template against the column layout as if it is the base plate
of the structure to be erected later. Make sure of the correct axis as per the approved drawings.

11. The surveyor has to do final check of the alignment and the level of the anchor bolts after
fixing.

12. The Engineer shall check if the installation of anchor bolts is tightly fastened and not
movable.

13. After Engineer approval cover the anchor bolts projection with masking tape, plastic sheet or
any possible protection before concreting.
