1. Introduction

Background

Supply of Adequate water is one of the hot issue that contribute the standard life of communities
through improving health so that increasing the productivity of society.
The Somali regional state Water Resources Development Bureau as the client, has planned to
undertake Construction of Bike Town Water Supply and sanitation project and has begun the
Construction Works in order to ensure the water sufficiency in terms of quantity and acceptable
quality to meet target.

4. Project Description

The water source for this project is the deep well drilled near dera elle Kebele at an average elevation
of 1030m and its far 10,000m from the town. The water will be pumped to rectangular cooling tanks
located at well site by a submersible pump and then after cooling the water will be fill by gravity to
underground 200 m3 reservoirs 80 m far from cooling tanks by gravity then its fills artificial wet
wells pumped to 500 m3 booster station which Fars 4,900m and also after fill artificial wells fills its
pumped to 1000 m3 service reservoirs at bike town and gravitated to the demand area 13 km
distribution pipes to the town and surrounding community.
