teacher will explain the cycle of life and will make the activity in class
- The seed of the bean plant, the bean, grows in a case called a pod.
- The seeds are harvested from the pod and planted or they fall from the pod
as it dries.
- After the seed is planted it will germinate. This means that the hard shell
softens and splits. Roots begin to grow downwards and a shoot will grow
upwards.
- The shoot will appear above the soil. Then two leaves will start to grow.
- The plant will grow taller and more leaves will grow.
- About six to eight weeks after germination the bean plant reaches adulthood
and flowers will grow.
- When the flower has been fertilized seed pods develop. The seed pods
mature and can be harvested for food.
Students will follow day by day this progress at home and draw the changes that
they see
