In the short story “Big Things Come in Small Packages” by Eleanora E. Tate, I
believe Tucker is the hero everyone thought he was. I believe he’s the hero because
when he flies through the sky and swoops down to rescue Mr. Nibbles like a superhero,
that shows he’s the hero of the story. When his eyes shoot lasers and kill the sharks that
are attacking, that also shows heroism. You can see evidence of this on page 10 when it
says, “With eyes blazing bright, Tucker swooped down out of the sky to save Mr.
Nibbles, zapping the sharks with his laser vision, turning them into fish sticks.” (Tate 10)
I can’t think of a better hero than Tucker at this moment. Richard was just a bystander
who really didn’t have a part in the rescue, “Richard stared at Tucker and Mr. Nibbles,
