COURSE CONTENTS / LIST OF EXPERIMENTS


1. Layout of Production Automation Lab.
2. Introduction to CNC Boxford machine and its conversion between lathe and mill
modes.
3. Introduction to part programming using G and M codes.
4. Use of Boxford software in lath mode and practice of basic G and M codes.
5. Performing different turning operations on CNC lathe using the built in software.
6. Milling pockets and contours using Boxford mill software.
7. Performing different operations on CNC Boxford machine in mill mode using the
built in software.
8. Performing various milling operations on vertical milling center using the built in
software.
9. Making different jobs on CNC engraving machine.
10. Introduction to Rapid Prototyping Machine

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the course are to improve students’ cognitive and psycho motor skills. To
know about the basic components of a CNC machine. Production Automation Laboratory
gives students an opportunity to use a CNC machine and practice the basic G and M codes.
