ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT FOR THE

MONTH OF OCTOBER

October is the month of the Holy Rosary, which the Catholic Church celebrates with
fervor and holiness. It is considered a powerful weapon against evil, as well as the perfect
prayer to bring peace to the world. For Catholics, the Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer
because it is an awesome prayer of man’s salvation from eternal damnation.

As one faithful said, by saying the Rosary, “we meditate the mysteries of joy, sorrow,
and glory of Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mary. It’s a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary.
It’s a prayer we can all say together with Her, the mother of God. With the Hail Mary, we invited
Her to pray for us. Our Lady always grants our request. She joins Her prayer to ours. Therefore,
it becomes ever more useful, because what Mary asks, She always receives. Jesus can never
say no to whatever His mother asks for.

During the month of October, Catholic churches in the Philippines will be filled with
devotees to pray together the Holy Rosary for peace in the country, particularly at a time when
the real security threat by terror groups,

As the pandemic continues to victimize the whole of humanity, faith in God is a powerful
weapon for believers. During this pandemic, the rosary serves as a source of hope and solace
for families. We can only be grateful that this pandemic brings family members together to pray.
These prayers were not always possible during normal times.

Which is why the Parish Pastoral Church of St. Padre Pio actively participated in reciting
the Holy Rosary last October 29, 2021, at St. Padre Pio Church at Rawis Legazpi City. The
different commissions solemnly participated in reciting the different mysteries of the Holy
Rosary. The Youth Commission spearheaded by Mr. Rene Rex; the praying of the rosary was
creatively presented thru a meaningful tableau to portray the different mysteries of the Holy
Rosary.
Catholics must not forget that while a devotion to the Blessed Mother is a vital part of the
Rosary’s historical and spiritual importance, it is primarily a Christ-centered prayer in which
Catholics pray to the Son through His Mother.

Praying the Rosary therefore is not just simply about reciting prayers. It involves
reflecting on the grace of God. Praying is a powerful act that lets us develop and strengthen our
relationship with God and the Rosary offers the same beautiful reward. By praying the Rosary,
we meditate on the events in the life of Jesus Christ and this lets us know God more.

When we are unaware of the meditation aspect of the Rosary, we reduce the prayer to
an empty, repetitive and meaningless gesture. In Matthew 6:7, Jesus Christ forbids us to
practice prayer in meaningless and repetitive babbles. It is precisely the reflective nature of the
Rosary that distinguishes it as a powerful and profound way of praying.

Rosaries are not just beads or a prayer that we recite during the month of October. Many
spiritual battles have been won because of this symbolic act. Many hearts have been touched
and many discouraged people have been uplifted because of the Rosary.
