A unique, contemporary shopping centre

Some time ago, our hospital unfortunately had to close. We, as the ruling party in New Town, want
to offer the citizens something unique. That is why we have come up with a concept for a modern
and environmentally friendly shopping centre.

For some years we have had the problem of rising unemployment and again and again you can see
the not so good infrastructure of the town. That is why we focus on solving these problems. At the
same time, we are also very careful not to pollute the environment with a shopping centre. So this
project will bring benefits to both the environment and the residents of New Town.

The ecological footprint of the building

We are installing 100W polycrystalline panels for the shopping centre and they will supply an average
of 400Wh each per day. With a storage unit at the charging station, we can collect energy in the
summer months to provide light and heat in the winter in a climate-friendly way. The building will be
constructed from sustainable building materials such as natural stone, cork and clay, and insulation
materials such as wood fibre and gravel will be used for insulation. With appropriate glazing and well
insulated frames we will be able to use energy very efficiently. We source the building materials from
local companies, thus avoiding long transport routes and ensuring that no chemical binders are used.

Park on the roof of the shopping centre

Furthermore, we will create a park on the roof of the shopping centre, which can be used for
relaxation and recreation. A bee hotel will also be installed there to provide a habitat for the bees
and a place for them to overwinter. Vegetables and fruit will also be grown in the park, which can be
taken for free. Organic waste from the shopping centre will be used for fertilising and the water to be
used will be collected in rain barrels.

Sustainability measures and measures to reduce unemployment

We also want to be sustainable in the shopping centre. For example, there will be no plastic
packaging and mainly local products will be offered. Local businesses will get an opportunity to have
a shop in the mall, so we are supporting the local economy. In addition, we create new jobs through
the department stores' and can thus counteract unemployment. Furthermore, several rubbish bins
will be made available so that proper waste separation can take place. In addition, the cleaning
products used for the mall will be made of plant-based and biodegradable ingredients.

We know that this will be a big challenge, but we are ready to put our energy and passion into this
project. We believe that by having a good eco-balance, saving CO2 and energy efficiency, and
stimulating the economy and the labour market, the shopping centre is the right thing to do for New
Town.

We are building the future sustainably!
