GUIDELINES
WHEEL OF EMOTIONS
ROBERT PLUTCHIK
To understand how emotions can be properly expressed and
managed, you need to understand first the different intensities of
emotions.
Emotions are multidimensional or have different intensities. The
wheel of emotions can be broken down into eight primary emotions:
anger (red);
anticipation (orange);
joy (yellow);
trust (yellow-green/chartreuse yellow);
fear (green-yellow/chartreuse green);
surprise (green);
sadness (blue); and
disgust (violet).
the vertical component of the cone petals represents the intensity
of each basic emotion.
for example, serenity can intensify to ecstasy or annoyance can
intensify to rage if left unchecked or unassessed.
OBJECTIVE
1. to monitor your daily emotions for 30 days (morning and
afternoon);
2. to make a self-assessment if you are able to manage and
control your emotions with your daily activities and with
dealing with other people; and
3. for you to exercise different ways on how to control
one's emotion based on the learnings you gain from class
discussion.
OUTPUT
1. at the end of the given 30 days, you should be able to
submit the following:
picture of your emotional tracker (Word file);
make a reflection, answering (1) why is it important to track
one's emotion; (2) what did you gain from the activity; (3)
what is the effect of the activity on your mental health and
physical health; and (4) share the most special day and what
emotion/s did you feel.
reflection may be in a form of a video (vlog) showing your
tracker or through writing (word file).
