HIGHLIGHTS OF CHANGES/AMENDMENTS TO THE 2016 STATISTICAL FORM

1. Separation of table for Addition and Subtraction of data gathered (see 1-15 of Table 1)
2. Specifying addition of membership by confirmation and membership classes (2a, 2b)
3. Additional item on addition by restoration (2c)—not present in 2016 Statistical Form- to provide for inactive or withdrawn members
who wish to restore their membership (¶ 242)
4. Ethnicity- deleted (16a-16g of 2016 Statistical Form) but I opted to include for local church recording.
5. Additional item for Baptized members (10c, 12a, 12b, and 12 c under proposed Statistical Form) for accurate accounting of baptized
members
 Baptized members transferred in from other UMC (as a result of migration, transfer of residence) (10c)
 Baptized members removed by death (12a)
 Baptized members transferred out to other UMC (as a result of transfer of residence of family) (12b)
 Baptized members transferred out to non-UMC (as a result of withdrawal of parents, transfer of residence) (12c)

6. Table 2: Membership Participation

a) Changes in the age groups to make it compatible to the lay organizations (UMCF, UMYF, UMYAF, UMM, UMWSCS) (see nos.
10-13)…Pls. check the accuracy of age groups as organizations have their own by-laws with conflicts in age groups (e.g.
between UMYF and UMYAF, UMYAF with UMWSCS)

7. Additional item is the separation of Sunday services attendance in worship and weekdays worship (only one in 2016 Statistical Form).
The reason for this is to have further studies on the effectiveness of weekdays worship services. (see 23 and 2013- Proposed 2017)

8. Additional items for Lay Engagement in various ministries of the church ( not present in 2016 Statistical Form, except 31. In the
proposed 2017 Statistical Form, we included the accounting of Lay engagement in the areas of Nurture, Outreach, Witness and Lay
Servant Ministry. The importance of these data is to assess and evaluate the involvement of professing members of the church,
thereby, creating programs for strengthening the engagement of more lay persons in the various ministries of the church.

9. Additional items for Lay Involvement in Giving (32 is the item 51 in 2017, 33, 34) to see the progressions of giving ministry yearly, and
its correlations to the vitality of the church.

10. Additional items for OFWs/Migrant Ministry to account members abroad and their participation in the ministries of the church. This can
also be useful in planning for Migrant Ministry of the church.

SPECIAL NOTATIONS:

Please take special notations on the effects of Covid-19 in the following areas of concerns:

1. Membership Acceleration Program

2. Financial Giving
3. Participation of Lay by Ages
