Q. What are three major divisions in construction industry?

Answer:

The three major divisions are:

1. Building Construction: Building construction includes residential,

commercial, institutional buildings. Work might be a renovation, repair.
These kind of buildings are made from the wood or concrete.
2. Infrastructure Construction: infrastructure type of the construction are
mostly made for the public usage with help of the public funds, highway,
bridges, sewerage such kind of the heavy construction are included in
infrastructure Construction.
3. Industrial Construction: big ware houses and distribution centres are the
example of the industrial Construction. These kind of the construction put

big input in the economy of the any country. They are very big in the size
and generally funded by the industrial or governmental organizations.

Answer:

The preparation of development document is generally done at the last phase of

the plan. The design expert and architecture are the one who complete this
process. However, sometimes contractor and sub contractor also participate in
the process.

Q. What is the difference between construction drawing and specification?

Answer:

Construction drawing convey the information of the location, design,

dimensions, and structure detail of the project. This drawing can be a useful for
the contractor to make estimate.

Specification means a kind of the information that cannot be explained in the

drawing so that information is written in the word form, for example procedures,
characteristics and quality of materials used for construction, construction
methods.

communicate?
Answer:

Master format can be a helpful for the communication during construction of the
project which have all the information of the site and that is divided into the 50
total groups, 34 out of 50 are active and remaining 14 are inactive. Remaining
14 groups can be used during the future expansion. Every division has an
identification number that details can be a helpful during the construction.

Q. What is the difference between general contractors and subcontractors?

Answer:

General contractors are placed at the top level in construction project. They
directly assign the work for the sub contractor. They analyze the plan, make the
payment and do every major work in the project as per the schedule.

Sub contractors are hired by the general contractors; they follow the orders of
the general contractors. They have been divided into the different fields and the
departments. Sub contractor get paid by the general contractor.

Answer:

1. Design Bid Build Process: In this process, contractor bid as per his
estimation in which he/she try to set a lowest price. Then contractor get
the project and he/she has to complete it before the end date.
2. Design Build Process: In this process, contractor and consultant agree
upon a one price after the negotiation. So during the work contractor will
be paid as per negotiation price. There is no place of the bid in this
process.
3. Construction Manager: Construction manager is hired by the owner. This
kind of the method is used when project is very big. Construction manager
checks the project work and estimation.

Answer:

There are 3 methods for contract selection:

1. Competitive bidding: In this bidding process, there are many contractors

try to get the project and they bid for the one project. Owner select the
one contractor who has set a lowest bid because owner has multiple choice
to select one contractor. In this kind of the process, normally, there is a
huge competition.
2. Invitational bidding: This bidding process is almost similar to the
competitive bidding, only difference is contractors are invited by the
owner, and they are the only who can submit their bid.

3. Negotiated bidding: Selected contractor and owner agree upon one price
for the project work. Contractor will be paid as per the negotiated price.

Answer:

shop drawing carries the information of the fabrication and installation of the

Answer:
