1. Line Chart:

The Chart below shows the changes in car ownership in Great Britain between 1961 and 2001.

Summaries the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons
where relevant.

Outline:

Heading: Given is the “ car ownership in Great Britain “ line chart, the car owner changed from 1961
to 2001.

Body:

 Between 1961 and 2001, the number of people who owned 0 car reduced. In the opposite,
the number of people who owned from 1 to 2 or more cars increased.
 Following by that change, the period from 1961 to 1981 had witnessed the increasing of
people who owned 1 car or more
 In 2001, there were under 30% of people who owned 0 car

Conclusion: There are less people who didn’t have a car. It seemed that everybody owned at least 1
car or more
Main Work

The car is an important invention of mankind. Given the "car ownership in Great Britain" line
chart demonstrating, the car owner changed from 1961 to 2001.

Firstly, between 1961 and 2001, the number of people who owned 0 cars fell. In contrast, the
number of people who owned 1–2 or more cars increased. In 1961, about 65% of British people
didn’t own a car. In the meantime, in 2001, about 45% of the population owned 1 car, and nearly
30% of the population owned 2 cars or more. It means that England's economy has improved
over time.

Secondly, following that change, the period from 1961 to 1981 witnessed an increase in the
number of people who owned 1 car or more. Owners of one car increased dramatically from
1961 to 1981, when they reached 50% of the population., people who had 2 cars or more raised
their rates modestly from 1961 to 1981, with about 15%. After that, it went level off. In addition,
between 1981 and 2001, the number of owners of 1 car decreased modestly from 50% to about
42%. On the other hand, an increase in the number of owners of 2 cars or more happened from
1981 to 2001. The population of England got richer.

Finally, in 2001, there were under 30% of people who owned 0 cars, which means the number
has reduced steeply in the past 40 years.

In conclusion, there were fewer people who didn’t have a car. It seemed like everybody owned at
least one car or more.
