Conflict Identification
Heat waves, massive floods, frequent and untimely rainfall, harsh droughts, and other
consequences of their initial rejection of climate change cost them dearly. Not only have they
been affected by human-caused natural disasters such as floods, droughts, landslides, and
heatwaves, but the sense of panic and terror that these events cause makes inhabitants fearful
and restless. Crops are becoming unproductive, soils are becoming infertile, transportation is
becoming dysfunctional, and welfare delivery is becoming unmanageable, resulting in
inconceivable economic losses. Their lack of understanding in assessing calamities and seeking
solutions rendered their area unreachable and helpless.
Plan of Action
Prevention is better than cure. The barangay's local community officers must provide proper
disaster and readiness training to the citizens to prepare them physically and mentally for
unexpected harsh weather. This training can help to limit the number of casualties and dangers.
Furthermore, they should inform the people about the items that must be prepared in a disaster,
such as food supplies, first-aid kits, and emergency exit. Improving their community, such as
inspecting their water canals, can go a long way toward preventing such issues.
Reflection
Climate change will have a significant impact on our future. As I previously stated, prevention
is better than cure, and we must devise a strategy to avoid natural calamities. People like us
should start with ourselves and contribute to climate change prevention measures like planting
more trees, reducing plastic usage, and correctly sorting rubbish. This tiny gesture can make a
significant difference in the environment.
