About the FDP
The present FDP focuses to discuss how nanoscience has evolved over the years, followed by its various
applications in Cancer Treatment, Space Research, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Sciences and
other potential areas. Nanoscience, a multidisciplinary research area, and/or nanotechnology has made
significant contributions in different engineering fields, apart from making strides in basic sciences
(Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) in understanding the nanoscale phenomena, including coupled vibrations
between individual molecules, the effective destruction of viruses (including the recent pandemic COVID-
19), heat transfer in protein-water interfaces, and others. Apart from these, the future is so bright that
nanoscience/nanotechnology has the potential to make valuable advances in different areas including, new
nano-based engineered materials, biology and medicine, energy conversion, sensors, water purification
(nano membrane) and environmental remediation, to list a few. This FDP, therefore, discusses the future
avenues, challenges, and scope of nanoscience/nanotechnology that would be useful for budding
researchers, scientists and aspiring engineers.
About the college
Nadimpalli Satyanarayana Raju Institute of Technology was established in the year 2008 by Sree Veera
Venkata Satyanarayana Educational Society. NSRIT offers quality education and technical competencies on
the strong foundation of values, ideas and rich culture to the students across the country and beyond. NSRIT
attempts to integrate class room learning with industry exposure to ensure the application of knowledge
during the course of study itself. The objective is to prepare young students to acts as leaders for the
promotion of the economic and industrial growth of the country and a creative role in society.
