Position:  Project Manager or Project Assistant Manager 

Supervisor:  Hieu Le (CEO)  

Schedule:  40 - 48 hrs per week  

Start Date:  Immediately 

Duration:  Two-month probation followed by one-year employment

All  of  us  believe  in  the  power  of  education  as  a  gateway  to  a  brighter  future.  We 
pursue  teaching  the  hearing  impaired  kids  basic  English  and  computer  skills  in 
order  to  build  a  foundation  that  enables  students  to  open  doors  for  themselves 
and  to  promote  self-motivated  learning.  Based  on  this  premise,  Hear.Us.Now.  was

born  as  a  joint  project  between  Global  Shapers  Ho  Chi  Minh  City  Hub  and  Everest 
Education. 
 

In  March  to  May  2015,  we  rolled  out  a  pilot program in which we taught English to a 

group  of hearing impaired students aged 8-15. During the course, teachers catered 
their  activities  based  on  students’  needs  and  adapted  games  to  promote  the love 
of  learning.  Families,  school  administrators,  and  teachers  reported  large  increases 
in  students’  retention  of  vocabulary  and  enthusiasm  for  the topic. Building on such 
results,  HUN is going to take on the official Vietnamese’s education system’s English 
curriculum  at  schools  with  the  hope  of  scaling  up  our  reach  to  hearing  impaired 
youth.

Position​: ​Project Manager 

Job description 

As a ​Hear.Us.Now (HUN) Project Manager​, you will have the following duties: 

●  Manage  academic  quality:  ensure  the  highest  quality  of  our  in-class  teaching 
(English,  Computer  Science,  and  Skills)  for  the  deaf  community  as  well  as  other 
channels of teaching. 

●  Manage  teaching  team:  work  closely  with  the  teaching  team  (volunteer  &  paid 
members)  to  help  design,  develop,  and  organize  different  classroom  resources, 
including the Project’s online presence on various educational platforms. 

●  Develop  tech-based  solutions:  Build  an  online  education  platform  and  develop 
video  contents/  other  virtual  content.  For  the  time  being,  we  mainly  focus  on 
English,  Computer  science,  and  other  career-orientation  content;  however,  the

scope  of  teaching  may  expand  further  than  that.  Tech-based  solution  is  the  best 
and most vital way to bring HUN reach mass population. 

●  Develop  next  generations  of  HUN-ers  who  will  work  alongside  with  you  to  scale 
HUN up. 

●  Manage  P&L:  ensure  a  healthy  financial  status  for  HUN  and  develop  fundraising 
strategies. 

In  brief,  the  Project  Manager  will  be  in  charge  of  9  areas  of  management:  Time, 
Budget,  Human  Resources,  Scope,  Quality,  Stakeholders,  Communications, 
Procurement, and Risk. 

Job requirements 

● 2  years  of  project  management;  leadership  roles.  Top  leaders  at  large 
student organizations are highly welcome. 
● Passionate about making changes and committed to G.A.P vision. 
● Be responsible and take ownership the job. 
● Have ability to work well with people (interpersonal skills & teamwork). 
● Be a creative thinker and be able to think on the feet. 
● Meticulous  attention  to  detail  and  proactive  project  management  skills,  with 
prior team management experience a must. 
● Ongoing  relationships  with  universities/  colleges/  vocational  schools  is  a 
plus. 
● Experience  in  education  and/  or  relationships  with  government/  media  is  a 
plus.

Mr.  Hieu  Dinh  Le  (UCLA  2010,  Stanford  2017,  and  UPenn  2018),  with  2+  years  of 
professional  experience  in  two  Fortune  500  companies in Vietnam & US, started his 
own  journey  with  an  education  startup  - Everest Education, a social enterprise with 
the  mission  to  transform  how  education  is  delivered  in  Vietnam.  Under  his 
leadership  as  a  Founding  Executive  cum  Director  of Business Development, Everest 
Education  has  grown  to  an  international  system  with  4  locations  in  Vietnam  &  US, 
served  1000+  students  cumulatively,  and  successfully  closed  a  USD1.4mil  series  A 
funding  in  2015.  Mr.  Hieu  was  honorably  listed  in  the  Forbes  Vietnam 30 Under 30 in 
2016  for  his  contribution  to  educational  landscape  &  social  entrepreneurship 
ecosystem. 

Also,  Mr.  Hieu  is  in  the  founding/  management  team  of  a number of social-impact 
&  non-profit  entities  such  as  Hear.Us.Now.  Project  –  an  English  &  computer literacy 
provider  to  hearing-impaired  community,  Young  Makers  Challenge  –  a  STEM 
education  initiative  to  high  schoolers.  Moreover,  he  held  the  leadership  role  of 
Global Shapers Ho Chi Minh city, an initiative of World Economic Forum.
