Planning and controlling is an essential function of management. Planning helps in
achieving objective of organization. It lays down standards for effective control
and control makes the implementation of planning effective. Both are
complementary to each other.

1.c 0his department sends instructions to spinning, weaving & processing
departments according to market demands.
2.c 0he initial planning for manufacturing the fabrics is made by this department
like - 0o decide EPI, Reed, Draft, PPI, Peg Plan, one can say it prepares
Πc for fabrics which has every information about fabric.
3.c It purchases raw material like fibers, yarns according to demand.
4.c It gets orders from any firm through online & remains in contact with firms.
Grasim Industries Limited produces two brands of fabrics:-
  c Œc c   c
 c
Œostly Polyester viscose blended fabrics are produced in this industry. Polyester
modal, polyester viscose lira, polyester wool blended fabrics are manufactured
according to market demand.
For P/V blended fabrics Polyester is purchased from Reliance Industries and
viscose from Grasim Industries Limited, Birlagram, Nagda(Œ.P). Sometime yarn
is purchased from Sangam Spinners Bhilwara, Bhilwara spinners Limited,
Bhilwara & R0Œ. 0he fabrics are also outsourced from china and processed here.
Sometime if market demand is more and looms are not available to fulfill this
order then this department contact to other textile company and gives orders to that
company. 0his is called ³Job work´. For Job work it contacts to 0arapur &
Bhilwara. 0he made fabric is processed & packed here.

Fiber is raw material for spinning out yarn. In GRASIŒ industry dyed fibres are used. Œainly Viscose
and Polyester is used in dyed form. Various other fibres in blends with the polyester and Viscose were
also used. 0hese are Œodal (High modulus viscose fibre), Lycra, Wool.

0his manmade fibers is purchased in industry from ( )c )* c

0his fibre comes from the industry of the Grasim itself. It comes from BIRLA CELLULOSE, Birlagram,
Nagda (Œ.P). 0his fibre comes in the dyed form and its Denier varies from 1.2 D to 6 D (as per demand)
and its staple length is 44mm.

ŒODAL Fibre is the modified form of Viscose fibre. 0his fibre is known as high modulus fibres.

Rest of the fibre comes in very less amount as they are not generally used. 0hese are Lycra, Wool etc.

0his department is concerned mainly for producing the yarn from the raw material
i.e. fibers. Here various machinery for the manufacturing of the yarn were used.
