NARRATIVE REPORT

Day 3

November 14, 2021

This day marks the first interaction of the student nurse to the people of the community. Upon
finishing doing the spot mapping, the student nurse identified a minimum of five target families in the
chosen community and started with the house-to-house survey. Throughout the whole process of the
survey, the student nurse observed health protocols such as wearing of face masks, hand sanitation, and
social distancing, to ensure their safety and the safety of the respondents. The student nurse felt welcomed
given that all of the selected residents to be interviewed, have agreed to participate and answer all of the
questions in the survey. Hospitality was seen from the residents as they allowed the student nurse to enter
their houses and even offered them food and water.

Moreover, the student nurse gave an assurance to the families that every information they will
share will be kept confidential. The student nurse interviewed each head of the family using their native
language and filled up the form for each family. The student nurse felt comfortable and at ease all
throughout the survey. Upon finishing the task for this day, the student nurse informs the families of the
expected return of the student nurse on next Friday and the expected program on that day. On the later
part of the day, the student nurse individually reported this day’s events and provided documentation.
