Writing Guidelines
Each class note should be limited to a maximum of 250 words.
Names of class member(s) should be in bold.
Class notes should be written in the third person and should reference the name of the alumnus in
the first sentence. When referencing the alumnus, be sure to include the class year and maiden
name, if applicable.
To include photos:
Wedding photos: include the name of bride and groom, date and location of the
wedding
Social event photos: Include the date, type of event, location of the event and the
names of the alumni in the picture
Please do not include notes about alumni outside of your class. Also, do not include extended
anecdotes about non-alumni spouses or children and grandchildren.
News that is less than six months old will get priority over older updates, as will news about
alumni.
Please note that Class Notes submissions, like all copy for the magazine and departmental
newsletters, will be edited for length and clarity
