Purposive Communication

I. A. Discuss and explain the ff.

1. Purposive Communication -  Purposive communication is a

non-improvised form of communication that is formatted to
effectively and efficiently relay concepts and ideas across
cultural and philosophical lines. Planning what you say when
you have to give a speech is an example of
purpose communication.
2. Visual-  visual communication is the practice of graphically
representing information to efficiently, effectively create
meaning. ... Examples of where visual communication can be
used include conferences and trade shows, websites, social
media posts, office presentations and meetings, and so much
more.
3. Auditory-An auditory communication is hearing something
through your ears. This is what speech is from another
human being for examplale hearing someone via the phone,
tape recorder, television, online, or verbally.
4. Kinesthetic - A kinesthetic-tactile learning style requires
that you manipulate or touch material to learn.  Kinesthetic-
tactile techniques are used in combination with visual and/or
auditory study techniques, producing multi-sensory learning
5. Non - verbal - Nonverbal communication is the
transmission of messages or signals through a nonverbal
platform such as eye contact, facial expressions, gestures,
posture, and the distance between two individuals

II. B. Share your insights on the following description.

1. You are introduced by your friend to her cousin but when
you were  about to give your right hand for shake hand. She
rejected it.

ANSWER:
When someone doesn’t want to shake my hand, I drop my
hand. That’s it, end of story. There are so many possible
reasons why this could happen that I don’t waste time
speculating. Oh sure, if it was a group situation and they
shook everyone else’s hand except mine, I’d take it
personally. But that’s never happened to me and I’ve never
seen it happen to anyone else. Some people dislike physical
contact. Some people dislike me. Everyone is entitled to their
opinion, even if I’d prefer that they thought differently.

2. You are giving a talk and your audience keeps on yawning

and looking at their watches.

ANSWER: First, I will tell to myself that it's not me, People
may be yawning because they didn’t get enough sleep the
night before or because the room temperature is too warm
after lunch and they’re feeling sleepy and they could be
checking their watches because they have something
important to do after your presentation.  Or they saw
someone else (even you) check their watch and they’re
unconsciously mirroring the behavior.

3. Your friend said yes to you but her facial expression says
no.

ANSWER: Maybe she's just forced to agree just to make me

happy but because there are people who really don't have a
facial expression like blank facial expression. I will ask her if
she mean it or no.

4. You are in the restaurant with your officemates. All of a

sudden, your ex boyfriend/girlfriend with his/her friend set
on the  next table facing to your table and he/she smiles at
you.

ANSWER: I would Treat him exactly the same as I would treat

a complete stranger . I would be civil and polite if he
approached me while maintaining distance or if we make eye
contact, maybe I say hello, maybe not depending on how
things ended. I do not feel any way when looking at the past
and an ex is the past.
5.  A new acquaintance is saying that he is glad to meet you
and he is willing to collaborate with you but all through out
the conversation / meeting he kept his arms crossed in front.

ANSWER: Maybe Because i just met him I didn't know him

too much and I didn't know his body language yet, I would
think that there would be no problem if he had his arms
crossed, maybe because he would be more comfortable with
that, because I'm not the type of person who immediately
thinks negatively of someone, especially when I don't know
them very well.
