Primary Substation Design

G2 ENERGY have in house Electrical and Civil Design
engineers able to complete all aspects of a new or
refurbished grid or primary sub-station design,
including protection scheme and earthing designs.
G2 ENERGY employs a number of civil and electrical design engi-
neers and are therefore almost unique in the fact that the both the
civil design and electrical design can be completed by the same
company ensuring that neither design is compromised.
G2 ENERGY will complete all aspects of the design, including
ground analysis and if required geotechnical surveys, architectural
and building regulation compliance, planning applications, earthing
studies and site specific designs, material and plant specifications
and even down to the detailed electrical protection scheme designs
for the transmission and distribution networks.
G2 ENERGY work with a number of the national Distribution
Network Operators (DNOs) and the National Grid as a term sub-
contractor working on new green field site developments and on
existing site refurbishment projects.
We have recently been involved in a number of Grid Supply
Point (GSP) sub station projects where the existing Air Insulated
Switchgear is being replaced with compact indoor Gas Insulated
Switchgear, being directly involved in all aspects of the civil and
electrical designs.
G2 ENERGY also utilises CDEGES computer software to assist
with site specific earthing studies and the design of a detailed
earthing system for the most complex of sub-stations and transmis-
sion networks.
We have a number of DNO and National Grid authorised (BESC)
staff allowing surveys to be completed within live sub-station com-
pounds without the need for safety men being present.
