yasya çré-bhagavat-präptäv
utkaöecchä yato bhavet
sa tatraiva labhetämuà
na tu väso ’sya läbha-kåt
SYNONYMS
yasya—whose; çré-bhagavat—of the Personality of Godhead; präptau—
for achieving; utkaöa—intense; icchä—desire; yataù—wherever; bhavet
—there might be; saù—that person; tatra eva—at that particular place;
labheta—can obtain; amum—Him; na—not; tu—but; väsaù—residence;
asya—of Him; läbha-kåt—reason for achieving.
TRANSLATION
Wherever one develops an intense desire to achieve the Supreme Lord,
there one can obtain Him. But the Lord’s merely residing in a certain
place does not grant one His association.
