1. SCOPE OF WORK
This proposal is described about the rectification method for the damage happened to the pile head during the
pile hacking work.

2. MAGNITUDE OF DAMAGES

Pile head geometry has been changed due to this damages so that it is requied to fill this damages to make
up it to the axact pile geommetry(1500 or 1000 mm diameter circle shape) as mentioned in the pilling drawing.
Since the damage part is too small, it is unable to fill with normal concrete mixes and to be use non-shrink
concrete repairing mix with higher or equal compressive stregnth than the piles.

In order to avoid ths kind of damages, in forthcoming locations, following precuations shall be taken.

1. Make grinder cut around the pile to a depth of 50mm in a radial direction
2. When it comes close to the cut off level chipping hammer shall be used
3. Specially at the edge near the cutoff level, hammer bit shall not be operated fully vertically.

3. MATERIAL TO BE USED
In this case, it is required to use non-shrinkable grout mix which is made by using non-shrinkage cement such
as Flowgrout 60 product of Fair Mate or any other equivalent. Refer annexure

4. PROCESS OF RECTIFICATION
4.1 DAMAGE ARE PREPARATION FOR RECTIFICATION
 Damage areas shall be opened by removing surrounding sand layer.

 Surrounding area shall be free from sand and water beyond 1inch from the bottom of the
prepared filling area.
 Make an individual shelter using tarpaulin /polythene or similar for the rectification area or it must
be covered at least after completion of filling the damages.
 2-3 hours prior, the treatment area shall be saturated with water.

 Prepare the formwork by using thin steel sheet like, Zinc aluminum sheet

4.2 DAMAGE AREA FILLING

Step 1 : Mix the gorut as a pourable formula using the manufacturers instruction in technical data sheet.
Step 2 : Mix shall be made by using hand drill mixer.
Step 3 :Clean the area by air blowing and remove contamnated water (if necessary) from the filling area.
Step 4 :Apply bonding agent to the rectification area properly.
Step 5: Pour the grout slowly to the formed area and make sure to avoid grout leakages.
Step 6: If the filling thickness is greater than 100mm, 10mm chip concrete shall be made by mixing with non-
shrink grout with 1:1 volume base
Step 7: Arrange proper curing method for the rectified area.
Step 8: Pile head geometry shall be protected during filling.

Note: It should not be mixed large volume at once that will reduce the quality of mix as well as wasting of
material.
