WEEK 3 OUTPUT
3. Watch a video clip of sports activity that experiences injury and identify

the type of injury and describe the mechanism. Cite measures that could

have prevented the injury. Indicate the link.

Ankle sprain - Ankle sprains are the most common acute injury that
develops from sudden blows or twists. These sprains are most likely to

affect the outside (lateral) ligaments.

Players can avoid an ankle injury by wearing sports shoes that provide

support and keep them from slipping on the court. An ankle brace is also

an excellent approach for players to support the joint and avoid sprains.

4. Describe how poor technique contributes to overuse injury.

-Many overuse injuries are caused by poor technique when doing repetitive

motions; this can result in excessive pressure being given to specific joints

or muscles, which can lead to damage; tennis elbow, for example, is

frequently caused by bad backhand technique.
