It was known as the “Land of the Howling Winds” because it is located off the
coast of Bicol Region, the Island of Catanduanes Province. It is known for its pristine
beaches with clear waters. The province is famous for tourists because of its unique
places that are brilliantly natural.

            Stepping on its land makes you already feel the sea breeze because of the fresh
air. You can already witness the welcoming people with all smiles on their faces in
Catanduanes Island. From beaches, falls, mountains, to churches and museums, you
can find it all in Catanduanes Island. You can hike up the Binurong Point wherein you
can witness the breathtaking meeting of the ocean waves and the rocks. You can

wherein you can spot the most famous volcano in the Philippines because of its perfect
cone shape on a clear day, the Mayon Volcano in Albay. If you wanted to see the mini

Volcano of Sorsogon. The Catanduanes Island isn’t just a beach island, but you can
also find falls like the Falls of Nahulugan. It is located inside a forest, and it gives you a
fantasy vibe. It looks exactly like the refreshing falls in the cartoon movies we see. It
gives you the magical feeling that makes you feel like you are in dreamland because of
its astounding view. There is also a famous church named the Our lady of the
Immaculate Concepcion. It is known because it is a reminder of the religious heritage of
Catanduanes Island. It is famous because the ceiling looks the same as the dome of St.
Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. If you wanted to see a magical rock that looks like
Jesus, you can immediately hop in a boat and go to Talisoy Beach. It is a place that is
also good for sunbathing. And the most famous spot for tourists who want to do soul-
searching is the Fiat House Cave-Inspired Chapel. Its floors and walls look like a cave
and it has a light in the altar that brightens up the whole place. It is a peaceful and quiet
place that’s why people always come here.

            The people of the Catanduanes Island Province took care of the spectacular
places and tourist spots because it belongs to them. As a tourist, we should take care of
the place more like we shouldn’t leave our garbage in the places we visit. We should be
grateful that the people of Catanduanes Island let us witness the greatness of their
