TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Texas Christian University
College Life & Identity (Honor’s College) 2022 – Present
Students in this discussion-centered course explored various aspects of the constructive-developmental
transition from adolescence to adulthood (cognitive development, sociology-emotional development,
faith-stage development, and moral/ethical development), with particular attention to the relationship
between the college experience and identity/values development. This course provided students the
opportunity to actively engage with concepts, theories, and frameworks that helped increase awareness
and understanding of how our social identities—race, religion, class, ethnicity, age, gender—impact our
experiences in the communities where we live and work.
Youth Advocacy and Ed. Studies Internship (College of Education) 2021 – Present
This course provided students with an opportunity to gain work experience in various professional fields
that intersect with youth through internship. Credit hours varied, with each credit hour equaling at least
15 clock hours in a professional environment with an organization, school, non-profit, school district, or
related agency that supports the field of education as approved by the COE Director of Community
Partnerships or a Dean.
Developed and steered through the approval process the creation of an interdisciplinary undergraduate
course in partnership with the Kinesiology, Nursing, and Education departments. Course focuses on
developing tangible leadership skills through experiential education and peer leadership. This course is
taught semesterly and has been running uninterrupted over the last ten semesters.
On Human Nature – Text & Treks in Nature (Honor’s College) Fall 2017
