The way of living of the society, the religions, the beliefs, how the government works, the cultures, the
traditions during the 19th century is way more different than today. But the only thing that stays the
same is that poverty and corruption are still present on both times. It only differs because the one who
corrupts during the 19th century that causes the Philippines to experience poverty was the Spaniards
and Friars because they were the government officials back then, while now, the corrupts that causes
our country to worsen the poverty are now the Filipinos, they are also a government officials that are

Since I am still a student and still learning, what I can do for now for our politics is that I will register
myself to be a voter since I’m already in my legal age and I will encourage my co-youths to do so. I
believe that the youths now are more intelligent and wiser compared to the past generation, the youths
are more aware of the things that is needed to be change in the politics. As youth, we will not be
blinded by the money that the politicians are going to offer, we care more about what’s going to
happen in our future than to get money in a dirty way and also, we maybe just youths but always
remember what Dr. Jose Rizal said “ang kabataan ang pag asa ng bayan”.
