ELABORATE: The difference between Grouped and Ungrouped data

The word data refers to information that is collected and recorded. It can be in form of numbers,
words, measurements, and much more.

What is the difference between grouped and ungrouped data?

Grouped data is data that has been organized in classes after its analysis. Examples include how many
bags of maize collected during the rainy season were bad. On the other hand, ungrouped data is data
that does not fall into any group. It is still raw data.

Solve for the mean, median, and mode

A. The ages for the COVID contact tracing team are as follows: 24, 25, 26, 26, 28, 30, 30,
30, 31, 35, 35, 39

B.

Class Interval Frequency

52 - 54 2

49 - 51 4

UNGROUPED DATA
46 - 48 4
SOLVE FOR THE MEAN

Formula: x = 43 - 45 5 (∑xi)/n

Mean = (24, 25, 26, 26, 28,

30, 30, 30, 31, 40 - 42 9 35, 35, 39) /12

= 359 /12
37 - 39 1
= 29.92
34 - 36 2
SOLVE FOR THE MEDIAN

Formula: ([the 31- 33 3 number of

data points] + 1]) / 2

N 30
Media n = 24, 25, 26, 26, 28, 30, 30, 30, 31, 35, 35, 39

= ( 30 + 30 ) / 2

= 90 / 2

= 30

SOLVE FOR THE MODE

Mode = 24, 25, 26, 26, 28, 30, 30, 30, 31, 35, 35, 39

= The score that occurs most frequently is 30.

SOLVE FOR THE MODE

Formula: lm+(∆1/∆1+∆2)c lm = 39.5

Mode = 39.5 + (8/8+4 )x 3 ∆1 = 9-1
