Eligibility Criteria
Safeguarding what’s important requires us to constantly hone our skills. The structured and
comprehensive training, coupled with the character development opportunities that we are
systematically exposed to, allows us to grow as competent professionals and confident leaders.
One particularly memorable experience was being a Mission Commander during Exercise Pitch
Black in Australia, where I led 37 aircraft from five different nations in the planning, coordination,
briefing and execution of a mission.
I also like the fact that the RSAF fights together in unison, acting as a single Force
across vocations to achieve mission success. After all, our fighter aircrew cannot
go at it alone. Air Force Engineers launch, recover and maintain our aircraft.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Pilots – Intelligence Officers (Air Intelligence) provide
targeting intelligence. Air Warfare Officers control and direct the aircraft, and
provide a multi-ring air defence coverage over our homeland. Every vocation in the
RSAF plays an extremely crucial role in safeguarding our skies.
Thus far, my career in the RSAF has been challenging but very rewarding. Every day
carries a different experience. If you have the passion to serve and are a team player,
a career in the RSAF is the place for you to pursue your passion and grow as an
individual.
STORIES
me that this is not true. Our roles as part of the military engineering community directly influence
the success of our missions, be it from keeping our platforms airworthy at all times, to improving
performance through engineering solutions. One task I particularly enjoy is investigating the root
causes of defects and preventing them from recurring with my maintenance team. Although it
is tiring, there is a sense of satisfaction in seeing fighter jets take off from the runway, with the

THE FORCE issues. By helping to troubleshoot issues and resolve any problems my team members face, I can
make their jobs and lives a little easier, while building a trust and brotherhood that is unique to
the military. The fact that I play an active role in shaping the development of the men and women
under me is a humbling yet immensely fulfilling aspect of my career.
