FROM THE PASTORS

As we enter a new month, let us reflect upon the words
of Paul writing to the church in Philippi. "In all my pray-
ers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your
partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,"
Philippians 1:4-5 NIV
Paul commends the church for their partnership in the
gospel, not just their presence/attendance. He talks
about their supporting his ministry through gifts and
prayer and for their concern and love. The Christian
Church rests on the pillar of partnering in the gospel of
Christ. If our idea of church and Christian community is
attendance on Sundays, Bible studies and prayer meet-
ings we're missing the core of Christ's heart. Paul goes
on to say in verse 7, "whether I am in chains or defend-
ing and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s
grace with me." Philippians 1:7 NIV
Our partnership in the gospel, is our commitment to live
Christ centered, Christ mirrored and Christ driven lives re-
gardless of the circumstance, both as individuals and as a
community. For then we truly share in God's grace, not
just as consumers but imitators and doers of His will. Part-
ners share in the joys, sorrows and concerns of each other.
So Let's begin this new month by asking ourselves this
question, how can we partner more effectively as individ-
uals and as a church in the gospel of Christ? Are we visit-
ing church to satisfy a legalistic condition to earn a certifi-
cate of merit, or to be partners in the mission of Christ.
Let us yearn each day to live by the words, "for me to live
in Christ to die is gain" and to be challenged to step out of
our comfort zones and become the kind of church the Phi-
lippians were. "For it is God who works in you to will and
to act in order to fulfill his good purpose." Philippi-
ans 2:13 NIV

Kristen’s grand mother was in ICU for low BP and had an

emergency hernia surgery.
