A lesson plan for beginner level students of English, using Community Language Learning
Method
Activities
The class will play a “sentence making game”. At the first stage, the teacher will select a word
and make a sentence himself. Then one student will make a sentence using the last word of the
sentence made by the teacher. Thus the whole class will make 31 sentences during the class time.
The teacher will write down the sentences produced by the students. Moreover, if the students
make any mistake in the produced sentence, the teacher will repeat the corrected form and write
it down on the white board.
At the second stage of the activity, the students one by one, will read out the sentences. The
teacher will focus on the pronunciation of the students and correct them indirectly; he will repeat
the sentence in a correct way so that the students can follow it. Finally, the whole class will learn
the correct production and pronunciation of 31 sentences.
Aim: To develop students’ speaking, listening and writing skills of English with the help of their
native tongue Bangla.
