* Sabías que el verbo NACER en Inglés es WAS BORN/ WERE BORN?
So, you would say something like this:
I was born in 2002, my brother was born in 1999 and my parents were born in 1960.
We were born in Mexico City.

*Recuerda también que los años (antes del 2000) se leen de dos en dos, es decir, si quieres decir este
año: 1998, la manera correcta de hacerlo es decir: NINETEEN, NINETY EIGHT (lo partes en dos).
EX. 1965= nineteen, sixty five 1810= eighteen, ten 1617= sixteen, seventeen 1399= thirteen, ninety nine.

Now, it`s your turn. Say these years out loud (en voz alta)

1980 2000 1999 1889 1987 1815 1492 2008 2020 1616 2019

WHEN WERE YOU BORN? I WAS BORN ON MAY 1st, 1981.

*Don`t forget: Was born/Were born= NACER
* I WAS BORN, YOU WERE BORN, HE/SHE/IT WAS BORN, WE WERE BORN, THEY WERE
BORN

4. READING ACTIVITY. Read the story about a Japanese family and then do the exercise.
This text is about my family. My name is Emi and I am Japanese. My grandparents are Takeshi and Yukie.

job so she is currently looking for a new one. I also have an aunt, her name is Tomoko. She is my dad’s little
sister. She was born in 1955 too, just like my mom. She is married and she has a baby boy. She doesn’t live
with us.
My brother, Takuya was born in 1979. He works in a bank. I was born in 1980. I’m a nurse and I work in a
hospital downtown. I love my job and I really like living in Tokyo. This is just an amazing city.
