Territory of Colombia

• Colombia is a country in the extreme north of South America. Its


landscape has tropical forests, the Andes Mountains and several
coffee plantations. In Bogotá, its high-altitude capital, the Zona
Rosa district is famous for its restaurants and shops. Cartagena,
on the Caribbean coast, has a walled colonial Old City, a 16th
century castle, and nearby coral reefs.

The economic system of Colombia

Colombian food
• The gastronomy of Colombia is the result of the fusion of foods,
culinary practices and traditions of the local Indo-American,

is no consensus on a single dish that represents all of Colombian
gastronomy, the arepa, pork rinds, and sancocho stand out as
the most representative. Other outstanding regional dishes are
the typical paisa tray of the Antioqueña region, the Santa Fe
ajiaco, the Tolima and Huilense suckling pig, the coastal cheese
mote, the Pueblo Bellano iku or Sierra tray, the Pueblo Bello
empanadas characteristic of this municipality of the Department
of César located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa
Marta, among others.

The political constitution defines the structure of the
Colombian state by dividing public power into three
branches: the executive, the legislative, and the judicial.
However, given that there are functions of the state that
these entities do not fulfill, the bodies to carry them out
are named such as: the Public Ministry, the Comptroller
General, the National Electoral Council, the National
Registry, the Bank of the Republic, the Communications
Regulation Commission and the National Civil Service
Commission, among others
