“TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION


WITH DRIVING”

For the successful and effective traffic management, specific roles and
responsibility are vested on following :

 City or Municipality Engineers’ Office


 In the local level, these offices are responsible for the planning,
construction and maintenance of traffic facilities within their
respective locality.

 Philippine National Police (PNP)


 The PNP through its Traffic Management Group
(PNP-TMG) Is responsible for primarily for the direct
enforcement of traffic laws, rules and regulations. They also
perform other functions such as conducting of information
dissemination campaign, submitting traffic scheme
proposals, and other functions as the need arises.

 Land Transportation Office (LTO)


 Implement laws, rules and regulations governing the registration of
motor vehicles, operations or motor vehicles and traffic rules and
regulations as provided for under R.A 4136 as amended and other
related laws.

 Land Transportations Franchising and Regulatory Board
(LTFRB)
 Prescribed and regulates transport routes, grant, deny, suspend, or
cancel land transport franchisees; prescribed and/ or adjust
transport fares; issue injunction in accordance rules of court.
 Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)
 This is the main executive department which is responsible for the
planning , construction and maintenance of traffic facilities
partially those categorized as national highways and other major
arteries.

 Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC)


 This agency shall be the primary policy planning, programming,
coordinating, implementing, regulating and government in the
promotion development and regulation of dependable and
coordinated networks of transportation and communication system
as well as in the safe efficient and reliable postal transportation and
communication services.

 Courts
 The courts are responsible for the adjudication of traffic- related
cases filed before them.

 Legislative (Congress/City or Municipality Boards)


 The legislative bodies are not only responsible for the passing or
amendment of laws concerning traffic but also they are involved in
the planning and approval of government projects.
