What have you learned in this subject?

To begin with, I have learned that Total Quality management is really essential in a
business or organization because TQM provides the quality assurance that customers will get
what they expect, as well as a process for managing unsatisfied customers, make needed
corrections and prevent similar reoccurrences. If your business doesn't have a clear path to
creating satisfied customers, then it can benefit from TQM. Also, I have realized that we should
always choose quality over quantity because a product that has good quality reduces waste and
helps companies earn customer loyalty, establish brand recognition and manage their costs.
Customers often buy more from companies they know and trust, and businesses can reduce costs
regarding product returns, defects and losses.

In Addition, TQM can have an important and beneficial effect on employee and
organizational development. By having all employees focus on quality management and
continuous improvement, companies can establish and uphold cultural values that create long-
term success to both customers and the organization itself. TQM’s focus on quality helps identify
skills deficiencies in employees, along with the necessary training, education or mentoring to
address those deficiencies. With a focus on teamwork, TQM leads to the creation of cross-
functional teams and knowledge sharing. The increased communication and coordination across
disparate groups deepens institutional knowledge and gives companies more flexibility in
deploying personnel.

Moreover, I have learned that having teamwork is really a good thing to do especially if it
would be beneficial to the objectives or goals that your organization is accomplishing. We all
know that working on with people with the same goal helps to accomplish a certain task
immediately, which also promotes productivity, unity, and cooperation that will lead the
organization or business to have a good result. Aside from it, teamwork establishes strong
relationships. Developing strong relationships with colleagues helps team members to
communicate freely and more effectively. Members will motivate and encourage each other to
work with their strengths and talents, developing new ones too.
 Furthermore, this subject made come into senses that quality is what matters the most. It
does not only focus on a business nor organization but also relates on how we live as a person in
totality. It could also be choosing good quality people, quality things, and accomplishing a
certain goal with quality by having a good result.

Moreover, this subject taught me about the things that are related to business; on how to
run a business with quality and come-up some solutions and tips to solve problems that a certain
business could possibly encounter. It also helps me realize that customer’s satisfaction is what
also matters most If you are going to build a business as it plays a vital role within almost any
business. Not only is it a leading indicator used to measure customer loyalty and retention, it
enables businesses to identify unhappy customers, reduce customer losses and negative word of
mouth whilst increasing revenue.

Most importantly, the TQM subject made me realize that time management is also one of
the most important things that have to be mastered not just in a business organization but also in
day to day living. In business, Time management is important so they can prioritize all their
work tasks and achieve their goals faster. When you better manage your time, you'll be able to
take on new opportunities and grow your business in a sustainable manner. On the other hand, in
a simple life or day to day living, managing your time wisely improves work-life balance and
increases happiness. Good time management also reduces stress and allows you to achieve your
goals faster and easier. Good time management helps you work smarter, not harder, ensuring you
get more productive work done in less time.

In conclusion, this subject gave me tons of lessons and realizations that will help me in
real life situation. TQM subject will be beneficial especially to those students who still don’t
have any idea about the word “Quality and Management”. It does not only teaches us about
managing a business but also helps us realize the things that would be more beneficial or helpful
to us in real life situation such as Eliminating what is not needed, organize whatever remains,
clean the work area, and lastly manage the time wisely to foster or promote good quality living.
