 No.

of bricks calculation:

Size of standard brick = 19*9*9 cm 3

Mortar thickness = 10mm=1cm

Size of brick with mortar = 20*10*10 cm 3

Volume of brick with mortar = 20*10*10=2000cm 3

Consider volume of brick work 1m3 = 1m*1m*1m

=100cm*100cm*100cm

=10,00,000cm3

Volume of 1 cum brick work 1000000

No. of brick= = =500 nos .
Volume of 1brick with mortar 2000

Volume of mortar = 10,00,000-( volume of brick * no. of bricks)=10,00,000-

(500*19*9*9)

=230500cm3

230500
= =0.2305m3
100∗100∗100

Half brick masonary wall:

Consider 1sqm area=1m*1m=100cm*100cm

Area of brick with mortar = 20*10

Area of brick work 100∗100

No. of bricks= = =50 nos .
Area of brick with mortar 20∗10

 M3 into Brass:

1 Brass = 100 cu ft

We know 1 meter = 3.28 ft

1 cum = 3.28 x 3.28 x 3.28 cuft = 35.29 cuft

100
1 brass = = 2.83 cum
35.29

1
1 cum = = 0.35 brass
2.83

 Volume of cement bag:

Density of cement = 1440 kg/cum
Density = mass/volume
Volume of 1 cement bag = Mass/ density
= 50/1440
=0.0347 cum
1 cum =1/0.0347=28.81 bags of cement
 Calculation of ingredients in concrete:
Grades of grades: - Cement: Fine Agg: Coarse Agg.
M10= 1:3:6
M15= 1:2:4
M20= 1:1.5:3
M25= 1:1:2
M30: 1:0.75:1.5
Ratio between wet mix and dry mix=
Wet mix 1
=
Dry mix 1.52
Consider 10cum concrete in M20 grade
For making 10cum wet mix we require dry mix = 10 x 1.52 =15.2cum
Volume of wet mix 15.2
Volume of cement = = =¿2.76cum
∑ of mix proportion 1+1.5+3
1 bag of cement= 0.0347 cum
Therefore, 2.76 cum = 2.76/0.0347= 79.53
Therefore we require 80 bags of cement.

Volume of fine aggregate= Volume of cement x 1.5

=2.76 x x1.5
= 4.14 cum
= 4.14 * 0.35
= 1.449 brass
Therefore we require 1.5 brass of fine agg.

Volume of coarse aggregate = Volume of cement x 3

= 2.76 x 3
= 8.28 cum
= 8.28 x 0.35
= 2.898 brass
Therefore we require 3 brass of coarse agg.
