Question 1:

Write a note on Magnetic Circuits and its applications in detail.

Question 2:

What is fringing? Why air gap is not preferred for magnetic circuits where maximum flux linkage is
expected?

Question 3:

a) A series magnetic circuit, having shape of a square consists of Ferro-magnetic material having
effective area of 3sq-mm, relative permeability of 3000 and an effective length of 80mm. The
squared structure also consists of an air gap of 0.5mm. Find the reluctance of the circuit due to Fe-
material and due to air separately.
b) For an mmf [F] equal to 10-At, what will be the magnetic flux in the said circuit?
c) Draw the equivalent electrical circuit for the explained circuit.
