AS ndia is celebrating "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 years of its independence, let's
recall the 75 achievements of India & Indians in the last 75 years that made us proud in Calling ourselves
“Indians".

1) India is the largest democracy in the world.

2) India is home to the 2nd largest human resource in the world.

3) India has the longest written constitution in the world.

4) India is a founding member of G-20, G-15, WHO, IAEA, BRICS, QUAD, ADB, SAARC and BIMSTEC.

 Economy
5) India is the world's 6th largest economy by nominal GDP & 3rd largest by PPP.

6) India has been nominated for the G20 Presidency from 1 Dec 2022.

7) India's Hero MotoCrop Limited is the largest 2-wheeler, manufacturer in the world.

8) India is the world's largest producer of vaccines & produces nearly 60% of the world's vaccines.

9) India is the largest exporter of generic drugs.

10) Nearly 95% of the Diamond in the world is cut, polished & processed in India.

11) India is one of the largest exporters of gens (jewellery).

12) India ranks 2nd in mobile phone manufacturing & cement production in the world.

13) India is one of the world's largest sourcing destination for the Information technology industry.

14) India is the hub of medical tourism in the world in both categories, modern medicine & traditional
medicine (like Ayurveda).

15) India's ISRO is the 4th Space agency in the world & 1st space agency in Asia to enter the Mars orbit.

16) India is the only country in the world to enter the Mars Orbit in its 1 st attempt.

17) Chandrayaan - 1 space mission made India the 6 th country in the world to enter the Moon orbit.

18) India's Chandrayaan - 1 space mission Confirmed the presence of water molecules on the moon.

19) During Chandrayaan - 1 space mission, when the impactor struck the south pole of the moon, India
became the 4th country in the world to place its flag insignia on the moon's surface (Jawahar Point).
20) During Chandrayaan - 2 space mission, India Successfully inserted the orbiter into the moon orbit.

21) India successfully launched 104 Satellites on a Single rocket which was a world record at that time.

24) India ranks 2nd worldwide in total farms outputs.

world.

27) Indian State ‘Sikkim' is the 1st state/province in the world to become fully organic.

28) Indian Armed Forces is the 4th most powerful military in the world according to Global Firepower
Index 2022.

29) Indian Army is the 2nd largest Army in the world.

30) Indian Air Force is the 4th largest Air Force in the world.

31) Indian Navy is the 7th largest Navy in the world.

32) India is the 6th country in the world to have nuclear weapons.

33) India is the 6th country in the world to have an indigenous nuclear Submarine.

34) India has developed the world's fastest cruise missile “BrahMos” in collaboration with Russia.

35) India is one of the few countries in the world that has the capability to build indigenous fighter
aircraft.

36) The success of Mission Shakti made India the 4th country in the world to have Anti-Satellite weapons

launch nuclear counter-strikes from land, air and sea.

considered to be the finest warfare schools of their kind in the world.

42) Indian Army is one of the few armies in the world that has won gold medals more than once in the
Cambrian Patrol Exercise. Cambrian Patral Exercise is considered as the "Olympics of military patrolling".

43. The success of Operation Cactus, launched by the Indian Armed Forces, helped Maldives to thwart a
coup attempt by Sri Lankan militants.

56) India successfully hosted the Men's FIFA U-17 Men's World cup in 2017.

57) India has won all the Kabaddi World Cups that ever been held except 2020 Kabaddi World Cup.

58) India won the Men's FIH Hockey World Cup in 1975.

59) India won the Men's ICC ODI World Cup 2 times in 1983 & 2011 and the 1st Men's ICC T20 World
Cup in 2007.

 Achievements at UN
68) India's proposal to celebrate 21st June as the “International Day of Yoga" adopted at the UN with a
record consensus and the got the highest number of Co-Sponsors ever for any UNGA resolution.

69) India has been elected 8 times as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

70) India's proposal to observe 2nd October as "The International Day of Non-Violence" adopted at the
UN.

71) India is one of the largest contributors of traps to UN peacekeeping missions.

72) India established the Statue of Unity, the world's tallest statue.

73) 8 Indians have won Oscars.

74) Around 36% scientists in NASA are Indians.

These achievements at international level will encourage every Indian to


achieve in those fields in which we as a nation are lagging behind.
