Research Method
Since the assignment is focused on the basic idea about HR (Human Resource) practices, issues
and challenges of The Coca Cola Company, the research design is mainly based on secondary
data. The report has been conducted from various resources such as daily reports of activities,
published documents, articles and websites. Data that are collected from various sources are
assembled and used in different parts of the report.

Mission
Coca Cola is the most popular and biggest selling soft drink in history, as well as the best known
product in the world. It describes as a brand that brings all friends and family together,
encourages sharing and brings happiness. They mainly focus to be the best marketers in the
world and ensure that the brand is recognizable universally by creating a value and making
differences. They do this by using relevant trends from each county that they present in, keeping
in mind that all the cultures are different.

Vision
Coca Cola’s main vision is to make their drinks in a way that people will love and that it
refreshes them with a good quality beverage. They are more into creating differences by helping,
building and supporting sustainable communities and to be the leading company being highly
effective.

HR Practices
Coca Cola adopts different HR (Human Resource) practices as per region’s they operate. They
maintain HRM process by directing, planning, organizing and controlling its functions of
producing, developing and motivating its manpower forces and are divided into several
processes controlled by specific managers. They have got large number of staff all around the
world. In context of Coca Cola Company, they are applying the procedure and different models
of international human resource development. The role of international human resource
managers is significantly high in such kinds of organization.

Company’s Strategy Planning


The Coca Cola Company adopts a global marketing strategy. They are considering the whole
world as a single market place and applying different strategy for each country, keeping all the
cultures in mind. Their goals and objectives are to survive in the global market, making profits,
gaining market share and gaining global recognition.
Therefore, they concentrate on corporate level strategy which represents the portfolio of the
business. Their main focus is on geographic expansion strategy which means they are an
American multinational beverage corporation, headquarters in Atlanta and have branch factories
in other countries like Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Italy, Spain, etc.
Job Analyzing and Designing
Coca Cola Company HR department checks their own job description and job analysis in which
they get the information about employees work activities, human behavior and performance
standard. The HR department also uses these information for recruiting, selection, compensation,
performance appraisal, training and employee’s relationship.

Recruitment and Selection


With Coca Cola’s complex product line, their human resource looks for external as well as
internal employees when recruiting for the multiple service lines. But their basic focus is on three
of the internal sources which includes posting open job positions, rehiring former employees and
succession planning. When looking internally, Coca- Cola always lookout for new talent and
experienced. They seek out to hire highly competent and qualified candidates who can think
strategically towards the goals by recruiting via internet, advertising, College recruiting, etc.

The company uses Ratio Analysis method to hire sufficient employees in future and forecast the
expected need of employees in the organization. They make this choice on the basis of the
production plan and current capacity which includes hiring more when the sales volume is high.
Interview Process
The Coca Cola Company carries out their interview process on-site or virtually. In most
situations, the interview is taken by three people. To give a detail understanding of the position
and the business, they try to bring a powerful, diverse panel to meet their candidates. They talk
about the experience and future goals during the interview. Coca Cola doesn’t conduct
interviews at a regional level but mostly labor and technical staff are selected at regional level.

Training Process
Employee training is an integral part of any employee. The company’s rules and regulations,
often it is the duty of a company to train its staff when new technology is implemented. They
train their new workers for three months after hiring and also pay them pages, and they become
part of the company after three months. Coca Cola Company gives training to their employees
also on the basis of their condition. They mostly give apprenticeship training which is under the
on the job training. Workers are trained alongside other workers to learn the basics and the
workers get to note and learn a lot from it.

Performance Appraisal
Coca Cola performance appraisal is annually. They appraise the employee due to their
performance about goals of the organization. At the beginning of the year, they set the targets
and inform the employees about the target, if the employees meet this aim they assess the
employees.
 
Compensation
The manager of the HR department of Coca Cola assumes that the workers are their assets, so
they worry for their health and benefits. The give the following compensation and benefits i)
basic salary ii) bonus iii) medical facility iv) pick up and drop v) gratuity fund vi) social security.
They get many benefits from their workers because they are comfortable working inside our
company. The downsizing of Coca Cola has never occurred, which demonstrates the partnership
between employees and the company.
