Amazon's Prime Air drone is a delivery system in development that will use remote-controlled robotic

vehicles to transport goods from the company's order fulfillment centers to the consumer.

Amazon's drones are small, unmanned octocopters -- helicopters with eight rotors -- that use GPS
navigation. The drones have electric motors, which makes them more environmentally-friendly than
delivery trucks.

Objectives
The goal for Prime Air is to create "an all-electric drone that can fly 15 miles and deliver packages under
5 pounds in 30 minutes." Provide faster delivey service towards customer.

Drone Delivery Problem

Amazon use solar-powered drones to send the product to the customer. This will require less
maintenance, have longer battery life, and fewer will be needed because the drone hubs can be put
anywhere any time. Solar-powered drone deployment becomes easy and quick, making it more
responsive to market demands.

Consideration is the weather.

What happens if a drone is in Boston during the dark, rainy, cloudy days of November? The solar cells on
the drone won’t be able to produce enough power to maintain their battery life.

Ways to overcome
We can solve this problem with advanced power control and analysis technology, including the
development of lithium-ion batteries, which means that the efficiency, performance and reliability of solar
cells are also improving. If power consumption becomes more efficient, batteries can be optimised to
ensure the drone stays powered no matter what the weather. In this way, goods can reach customers
quickly
