Fall 2021
1) Dream job – You must think about a “dream” job that you would like to have after completing the requirements for your degree. Include a career
path statement on how you plan/steps to obtain this dream job. Include the number of years it will take at each position/step along the way.
Specific titles of positions need to be included. (4/30) _____

2) List of five (5) other colleges/universities that offer a graduate program of your interest. Include the specific graduate program’s academic and
admissions requirements, graduate coordinator’s name and other contact information. (4/30) _____

3) Industry related certifications – You must research and find out what additional certifications you will need to be qualified to apply for your dream
job. In some cases, no additional certification is needed. However, everyone will need a bachelor’s degree. (2/30) _____

4) Research/summary of industry trends – You must conduct research on what the industry trends are for your dream/entry level job. These trends
MUST include these areas: salary/benefits, availability of jobs/location of the jobs/employment trends, and experience/education needed. The
trends must cover at least a one-year period and must be current trends. Submitting trends that were published three years ago is not going to
assist you. Research must be properly cited using APA 7th edition guidelines (inclusive of a reference page) or NO credit will be given. (6/30)_____

5) Practicum/internship opportunities – You must conduct research to find out what internship opportunities exist in your particular area of interest
that will lead you towards obtaining your dream job. You will need to “cut & paste” three (3) “job postings”/advertisements from industry journals
or the “internet” for your portfolio. These opportunities must be recent postings. (6/30) _____

6) Professional development interview summaries – You must conduct (2) in depth interviews with professionals in your field. The
professionals you interview cannot be from Troy University. Your summary must include the date, time and location of your interview. The
summaries must either be in a Q & A format or a traditional summary/narrative format. The nature of the questions are up to you but you must
include questions that ask about the nature of the industry, position, etc. so that you ultimately get a better “feel” for the industry and or position.
