In the mountains of south-central Peru stands Machu Picchu, a deserted city of the
Inca people. The name Machu Picchu means “old peak” in the language of the Inca. The
dwellings at the site were probably built and occupied from the mid-1400s to the early or
mid-1500s.
Machu Picchu is located about 80 kilometers northwest of the city of Cuzco, which was
the capital of the Inca Empire. It lies between two sharp peaks in the eastern Andes
Mountains, at a height of 2,350 meters. Mountain forest surrounds the site.
Machu Picchu is divided into two sections, one farming and one urban. The farming
section is made up of steplike fields called terraces. The Inca used the terraces for growing
crops such as corn and sweet potatoes. The urban section has plazas, temples, houses, and
a cemetery. They are connected by walkways and thousands of stone steps.
Most of the structures are very well preserved because of the quality of Incan
engineering and stonework. One notable structure is the Temple of the Sun. Once a year
sunlight shines through a window onto the middle of a large stone. This stone was a sort of
calendar. Another famous structure is a pillar known as the Intihuatana. The pillar was
probably used to keep track of the seasons.

On a solo trip to Yangshuo, China, I decided to visit the nearby water caves.
I don‟t remember why I decided to go so late in the day, but a local bus and another
smaller bus got me there only after 4pm, just before the caves closed. Believe it or not,
there were no other visitors at that time and I had the tour guide all to myself.
My luck came to an end though as soon as I got out of the caves, as I discovered there
was no bus going back to Yangshuo on that day.
Keep in mind, this was in the countryside — about 10 kilometers away from Yangshuo. It
would take me two-to-three hours to walk back along a road.
I ran around asking everyone I could find about possible buses, having to resort to my
broken Mandarin. A young Chinese couple saw the desperate look on my face and offered to
take me back. I was over the moon! Since they only had their scooter with them, the three
of us all hopped on it and rode to Yangshuo.
I‟ll never forget the awkwardness of sitting at the back of a scooter with two strangers
and at the same time the warm feeling of coming across such kindness. Riding scooters in
groups larger than two is against the law in the area. So, they risked getting a fine by taking
me on board, too!

The plant known as ginger is valued for its
underground stem. This stem, called the rhizome, is
used as a spice to flavor items such as gingerbread,
ginger sauces, and ginger ale. Ginger is also sometimes
used to treat stomach problems such as motion
sickness.
Ginger is believed to have been grown first in
south-eastern Asia. It has been used in India and China
since ancient times. By the 1st century, traders had
taken ginger into the region of the Mediterranean Sea. From there it spreads throughout
Europe and then to the Americas. Today, ginger is grown in many tropical and mild areas of
the world.
The leafy stems of the ginger plant reach a height of about 1 meter. The leaves are 15
to 30 centimeters long. The plant produces small, yellow-green and purple flowers. New
ginger plants can be grown by planting material cut from the root.
As a spice, ginger has a slightly biting taste. Some people cook with the fresh rhizome,
called green ginger. Usually, however, ginger is dried and ground before use. Rhizomes are
lifted from the soil and cleaned before being left in the Sun to dry. Dried ginger roots vary in
color from dark yellow through light brown.

Wait 'til you're announced

We've not yet lost all our graces
The hounds will stay in chains
Look upon Your Greatness and She'll
Send the call out, send the call out 8X

Call all the ladies out

They're in their finery
A hundred jewels on throats
A hundred jewels between teeth
Now bring my boys in
Their skin in craters like the moon
The moon we love like a brother
While he glows through the room
Dancin' around the lies we tell
Dancin' around big eyes as well, ah
Even the comatose
They don't dance and tell
We live in cities you'll never see on-screen
Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things
Livin' in ruins of a palace within my dreams
And you know we're on each other's team
I'm kind of over gettin' told to throw my hands up in the air
So there
So all the cups got broke
Shards beneath our feet
But it wasn't my fault
And everyone's competing for a love they won't receive
'Cause what this palace wants is release

4. Select the 7-Zip menu. Even more options will expand.
5. Click Add to Archive. This opens 7-Zip.

larger dictionary size means better compression, but the memory requirements are ten
times the dictionary size. In most cases, 128MB will suffice, as it provides excellent
compression at a decent speed.
10. Select the option to split the file into smaller files (Optional).
11. Click Ok to compress the file. This compresses the file using the settings you specified.

Once, there was a boy who became bored when he watched over the village sheep
grazing on the hillside. To entertain himself, he sang out.
“Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the sheep.”
When the villagers heard the cry, they came running up the hill to drive the wolf
away. But, when they arrived, they saw no wolf. The boy was amused when seeing them
angry.
Later, the shepherd boy cried out once again. To his amusement, he looked on as the
villagers came running up the hill to scare the wolf away.
As they saw no wolf, they said strictly, “Save your frightened cry for when there really
is a wolf.
Later, the boy saw a real wolf sneaking around his flock. Alarmed, he jumped on his
feet and cried out as loud as he could. But, the villagers thought he was fooling them
again, so they didn‟t come to help.

sheep. When they went up the hill, they found him weeping.
